There's some things in the Sims series that um... er... Sims can 'do' that would be very wierd with the 'Wiimote'. If you catch my drift

YOU COULD
1. pick up the TV and throw it widely like a tennis ball and play squash with it using tennis actions!
2. Slap the sims WITH LIFE LIKE ACTION!
3. Steal the sims knife and pretend you are a ghost WITH REAL NO PERSON VIEW!
4. Make the sims drink laxatives by sneaking in the drug while there not looking!
5. THE OLD CLASSIC! take out the swimming pool stairs and laugh historicly
6. Burn the house down! using the wiimote you control the match that started it all!
7. Make your sims get extreme boul problems by giving them laxatives and watch them stay in the toilet for the rest of their day then reverse flush it!

About the cuteness factor, its was done that way to appeal to the Japanese market.
For instance, ya'll remember that PS game crash bandiqut (I cna't remember how to spell it), wellit was a US creation and became the US Sony Entertainments mascott. When ported to Japanese market, tests failed miserably. The Japanese hated it. So what they did was slightly cutify the characters. Next test, crash was a success.
In my opinion, this version of the Sims fits Nintendo perfectly.
