Quite a few quests are required to gain new traits and skills.

Quests are needed to gain:
Combo skill
Aura
"god mode 1"
"god mode 2"

Aura and the 2 "god modes" are very usefull skills to have at higher levels.

And always follow your character advanecment template. Its a must to acheive certain ranks or complete certain quests.
1) Auras and battlestyles (godmode? uh?) arent any good in pve, theyr a waste of 1 SP bar,and arent that good in pvp, specially if ur a mage or archer...comboing is the key to lvl up skills fast, and kill lots of ppl who didnt learn to untarget emselves... and in war pvp comboing is better than AoE which also dmg ur frens.
on the other hand, blader second battlestyle is great in pvp... and i bet most of u gonna have ur first char blader ^^

2) quests are rewarding, fun, and the storyline is pretty good... when ur ard lvl 50 put ur hands on a good aprentice equip, get the sword->magic/ magic->sword special and u'll lvl ur skills pretty nice too, so dun need to leave questing ( quick lvling) for grind (quick skilling)
by lvl 90 u shud be master with no problems in ur main discipline...then to dual trans it will require a bit more grind

anyway a quick tip... even the most unskilled player can do 11 combos, do them as often as u can, all the time combos, lvling, questing, all the time... ur skills will lvl fast and it'll take u no time thru lvls, and its a great way to practice mega combos (personal record is 21 ^^)

i have a dual trans 112 mage, pm me for tips if u want

Edit: FS... go for it if u like the class, if not... their def is not that great in the endgame, and they do avg/low dmg
