Honestly, I'm fed up. Most games these days are unoriginal (Driv3r, Just Cause, Saint's Row), annoying as hell (running around a dungeon to find a key for a door that's almost falling off its hinges)

OR

They're appealing. But they're not out yet. And they require a good $1800 dollar investment in hardware. (*cough* Vanguard *cough*)

Now, I'm not ranting on particular games, so don't get defensive. I'm actually fed up with myself. I've let myself get slowly drowned in an obsession of gaming that upon realizing how pointless it is, I try to think of what I have, apart from games... Nothing, really. Though, I am young, and I don't have school currently. I think I need the homework, for something to do. I try to get immersed in some random MMO and fail horribly, noticing the repetition and low amount of socializing.

I have met some nice people through gaming, namely my friends at school, but also random people on WoW. But it's rare. Mostly people like myself, working away at a goal that means nothing. Some satisfaction, but only over the 200 hours invested into it. I could have been doing something productive, be it learning or getting together with friends (..and doing something other than playing video games). My new year's resolution is to cut back on this bad habit for a good while. At least until a real Virtual Reality MMO comes out. Not semi-reality.. Reality. Think .hack, people. (See: .hack)

The point of this post is not to make you realize anything at all. If you're happy, keep it that way. I, on the other hand, needed a way to vent and form my thoughts, I don't keep a journal (don't have the patience) and the topic was gaming, so here you go, OnRPG! My rant.
