[HELP] Photoshop problem

Fcking hell i'm getting really pissed off about photoshop!!! Firstly before i uninstalled it I couldn't add a color balance layer! Now wen i finally get the friggin thing installed I can't change my color!!! It just goes from black to white -.- Wen i try changing to any color it changes to gray!!! FRIGGIN HELL!!! *RAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWR* Any ideas?

makesure its on 1st camera thingy and make sure your paint mode and layer mode isn't on the wrong mode o.o and if it doesn't get fixed i guess i don't know since im still new and will be new in photoshop forever *due to not using it much lol most unused program = ps >_<;; im sorry for being so unhelpful >=o

Don't understand but i checked both brush mode and layer mode is bother normal and also i tried the settings on ur pic still not working sry -.- need ALOT of help

Ah, i use to have photoshop, use to always do that. But i figured it out. when you start a new document, make sure you set it to color, not black and white... it made me feel stupid. hopefully its something else so you dont feel stupid

Haha well the same thing used to happen to me years ago when I was learning Photoshop and I always wondered...

Well my friend the answer is greyscale...

Go to Image>Mode> And make sure GRAYSCALE ISN'T selected (use RG.

As a side not make sure to be working with 8 bits otherwise you won't be able to apply many filter effects.

If that isn't the problem I have no clue.

As mentioned earlier before making a document make sure to have all the right settings, work with pixels, RGB and either no bg or a color selected bg.
