    Default Well...

It seems the hacker got hacked.

    Lemme tell you the story.

I got taught to hack by a guy that calls himself "Mute", great guy, great hacker, or at least I thought he was..

A couple of day's ago he sent me a photo of himself, and he's an ugly fcker so I laughed at him >.<

Big mistake.. He took it the wrong way and went a bit moody with me, today he comes on msn telling me he is ok with me and he has a new exploit for me, so me being curious accept this nice gift and run it on my pc. That was big mistake number 2. Inside the source code he had cleverly hidden a rootkit (sort of like a trojan for linux) he then proceeded to log every account name and password on every site I have visited for the past 5 hours, including OnRPG. Maybe he thinks deleting random post's on here is some sort of revenge for me laughing at him, I just think he is a lame little runt who realised I surpassed him and laughed at him.

So, I apologise for the setback, and I hope we can get some quality threads back up to show him OnRPG wont go down that easily =]

At the same time I would like to step down as a mod here, I dont want this to happen again. My being here has lost its touch now that gabe has everything sorted security wise. I'll still be around to annoy you now and then =] Just wont be able to ban nubs anymore

    Keep playin them games mens.

    TLM out.

Yes I have something planned for the *****, and dont worry about OnRPG now he wont be back here.

And marx123, it's no surprise to me he is 14, I know some truly elite hackers as young as 12. That age is perfect for starting to hack, its the sort of age where you just wanna rip stuff apart and see how it works inside, which is what hacking is all about.

That's why you don't try to be a hacker, and don't trust people who hack. Hey man it's allright though. Sucks you won't be a mod. I hope you have a good time here nonetheless.

well that suxs....better be careful with some of those hackers, they tend to go back on there word and are pretty distrustfull. I think that they feel that they are not accepted in the real world and are ignored so they get attention by hacking and that makes them feel better about themselves because they know they have somewhat of power over others.

I posted this in sanman's thread, but got to say this ....

I personally think its not TLM's fault totally, and he wldn't want such things to happen. I'm sure he has had a good record to be given a Mod rank. So why not let TLM create a new account and restore his Mod status ? That will make things easier ... Just my 2cent :X

A hacker is not always a bad hacker. My dad does like computer stuff.. and all, and he had to learn how to hack and stuff inorder to protect his computers.

Learning to hack from a hacker, is stupid.. sorry TLM. But actually, if you learned it yourself, you could've just avoided this connection thingy and you would still learn.. online? books? it's possible.

Hacking can be determined if it's bad hacking and eh.. 'good' hacking by your purpose. If you're gonna learn just so you could learn something new, or to learn now to reverse it all to protect your computer.. then okay. If you're gonna learn just so you can hurt other people..... then you know.

    ^ my opinion only.

This is the kind of media definition I previously mentioned.

I came to this site because I found it was exploitable, so I messed around with it for a bit then gained access to a moderator account.

At this point I had 2 decisions:

1: Remove everything on the site, leave the usual message and carry on.
2: Get in contact with gabe and help him stop choice #1 from happening.

I chose number 2, and I gave gabe all of the exploitable pages I had found and pointed him in the right direction of fixing them. The best way for me to do this was to give me access to the staff section of the forums so I could warn all the staff of potential threats. As time went by more and more posts where popping up in the staff section about needing new moderators, so I volunteered to help. Nobody said "Lets not make him a mod because he hacks", they could see I was trying to be helpful, unlike you buttnuts that see the word hacker and instantly think bad things and get all defensive of your non hacking ways. If you dont like curiosity or the desire for exploration then keep it to yourself. Dont come here judging what you know nothing about.

I don't see the need of pointing out and accussing TLM as a hacker ... You guys know that FBI hires good hackers to track the bad ones ? There really are good and bad hackers :/

Once again, chill with the negative comments. I'm not trying to be the nice guy here, but at least try to see the siituation in a more positive way.

Another thing...moderators can't delete the posts from the system, only a "soft delete".

Now this leads to one other thing I noticed, Sandman, you said...

I am not exactly sure what just happened... But a certain moderator, TLM, went on a thread deleting spree. I figure I would tell everyone know, because your going to find out eventually. I am not sure what was wrong. Either TLM was hacked, or something else.

Either way he deleted a lot of threads and his powers have been removed until we can assess the situation...

    I think thats all.
His powers were removed, yada yada yada...but in this post he states he laid down his powers as it was the best choice, not that they were removed from him. Plot hole!

Also, it's amazing how calm you are about it, it's also funny how you ASSUME it was hacking. Hm, interesting, how can you conclude this and say it was a hacking attempt? What if he is just an idiot? Did you ever think of any other reasons? Probably not, because I have a feeling you know more and don't want to say it.

Don't worry, I am sure this will get locked because the mods feel threatened just like the MMORPGHell topic I got warns in, it's all good, viva 'la resistance, I got my point across.

Y'know, there are some things that we just don't need to know. Stop digging in the staff's nose and let them to what they do.

Oh look, modded for flaming...right...because we all know finding errors in a post deciding if a mod destroyed the forum with the help of another, is bad. M'I'Rite?
New member? I'm not a new member; you seriously haven't been here long enough. To add on, I'm not sucking up to the staff; wouldn't you hate it if you had an asshole (you) talking bullshit about you? Especially when they lack a lot of knowledge.
