Don't know if you guys have read this but theres a interview with k2 about SOTNW at the link below.... Heres a interesting quote from a K2 rep...

Jonric: What will your revenue model be? Do you intend to offer any alternatives to monthly subscriptions?

Grantley Day: This will be a separate announcement in the near future. K2 Network is currently working on the best revenue and price model for the title; it's going to be compelling!

Saying "it's going to be compelling!" is a good thing for us F2P gamers right??

    Mixedguy thanks for the article.

Just read it all and I got to say. I really do say that 2007 "is" the year for a good story told MMORPG. Because the only MMORPG who delivered such a good story was Ragnarok Online but then it lost its touch twhen it introduced some certain quests then the gunslingers and ninjas but before them taekwondo. I mean we sitting here for years using katars, blades, elements to fighting one another and this character with no weapon is introduced into the game. Anyways, I am really loving the features that the American version will get. And I pray that k2network will do us a great favor and not screw us over with the revenure plan but I still will play it

Mr crabs will have at them.

Why must they always tamper with the games? =/
It usually ends up that you become less satisfied with it because they've tampered so much. Freaking annoying, man.

Tampering gives them money. Sorta like the time i tampered with this kids go kart. He lost the race and i won some money. Sorta like that.

Lol ironic, first thing you see is "FREE2Play" then you read on and it says "Pay to get the actual game" xD... Free2play my ass. That gimmick is false.

OK, it seems some people are quite confused about the definition of Free-to-play and Buy-to-play.

Free-to-play: No monthly fee at all.
Free-to-play Forever: Do not need to purchase a client and do not need to pay a monthly fee.
Buy-to-play: You have to purchase the client to START playing.
Pay-to-play: You have a monthly fee to pay, in order to continue to play.

-A game like Guild Wars is both B2P and F2P. You have to purchase the game, but you do not need to pay a monthly fee.

-Most Korean MMORPGs are F2P-Forever. This would mean, the client and the monthly fee is free. Spacecowboy, Silkroad, and Rappelz falls into this category.

-A game like Dungeon Runners is P2P with no B2P option. You download the game for free, but to be allowed full access to all the game features, you will have to pay a monthly fee (in DR case, its $4.99/month).

-Dark Ages of Camelot is an example of B2P and P2P. You have to purchase the client, and have to pay a monthly fee to continue playing.

Now from what K2 has said, its basically a B2P/F2P set-up. But who knows.......

I see enchants with visual effects being a good seller in a lot of MMORPGs.
