    Default Nortorn over Avg?

Hey, im just wondering if i should stick to nortorn or go for avg or something.
I recently just got some virus that describes itself as a virus that steals my passwords and personal information, I stopped getting the warnings after i deleted all the programs that the keylogger came with.
So my question is should i use nortorn over avg? I've heard nortorn doesn't scan out things always and catch everything, And right now im using windows defender, but i also heard that sucks, so im either going to get rid of nortorn if it turns out to be bad, and go to avg or something.

could anybody recommend me the best free malware/spyware and virus programs?
And if you guys could read this and help me, that'd be great.

AVG 7.5 is what most people like. But, you could also try AOL Active Virus Shield. It's pretty nice. I've never used Norton, so I wouldn't know if it's the best or not. Get rid of Windows Defender, and start using AVG or AOL.

As for your key logger, download and scan your computer with Kaspersky (free trial), but if your short on time, use the NOD32 free trial. For now, when typing in your passwords, type some of the letters in your password, and move your mouse around. For example, if I wanted to type "Endless", I'd type a 'd', move pointer and type 'n', then 'e' 's' 's' and so on. As long as your key logger doesn't take pictures, it'll only pick up the letters that you type.

Alright thanks for your help guys, Endless thanks really , and afro i have no clue what that site was for lol. some more recommendations would be nice. And endless, when you said get rid of windows defender, what do you suggest i use? does avg scan spyware and malware?
And more importantly do these programs stop attacks? not just having to scan all the time to get rid of things.

    DON'T GET AOL. I HAVE IT AND IT'S NOTHING BUT A *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

I cannot stress the amount of exclamation points after *****. But it's true. If you don't mind the daily scans (no setting change) and constant popping up of messages about AOL and how it claims to protect your computer. I have a 1 year old computer and it takes 3 - 4 minutes to launch word. Also, If i'm running photoshop, I can only run a browser and that's it. AOL SUCKS!!! DON"T GET IT!!!

You could try "Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic", I've read that it's better than AVG and Avast! and it's free.

There's like an exact replica of Norton that I used to have and it was free. I can't remember the name though. BTW AOL is free for me because i have TWC. It does really good at protecting but then again, it doesn't allow you to do much, very fast.

Well Kaspersky always worked fine for me. But if you don't buy it, good luck getting a working pirated version.

Use Zone Alarm instead of the windows firewall. As for AOL; I know it's really annoying, but it uses the same virus directory as Kaspersky. So, it really depends on what you like. Use Kaspersky and NOD32 to clean your PC at first, then stick with AVG and Zone Alarm.
