I played Diablo I for almost two years, so I guess I prefer DI. But the game is from 1996, so the graphics may turn you down now...
Get it legal, mate. If you find it in a shop it won't be more expensive than what? 6 bucks? 7? I don't know the prices of games in America, but I'm sure it is approximately that expensive.
The thing is that the online community in DI stopped existing one year after DII came out, so there is no use for the online gameplay in DI, and that's a pity. Left good memories while playing that game. I think I lived the 11/S in the main chatroom of DI
