Reputation: 10Lol it's so ******ed. Can you say... http://youtube.com/watch?v=0XuqQkr_AKA BOOM!!!! That piece of crap.
pff the land walkers laz0rs would destroy that rocket before it got close, then it would use its mind control cannons to make the tank driver kill himself
yeah!
Reputation: 10Wow. Land Walker. Nowhere did it say it was a military vehicle. Also, let's compare cost. Tanks are what, $4 mil each? That mech was probably about $4k and is armed with air compressors.
I bet a tank could wipe out my badass Nissan too... and the point would be. Still, I think I'd rather leave 4 hours early for work and pull up in a mech than get there on time in my rattlin, roarin, bumper-fallin-off, POS.

Reputation: 10Oh absolutely. Mechs are cool, but logically, they're completely impractical for military purposes. And actually, they are working on exoskeleton suits for soldiers. Very cool stuff.

I love going to Anime and game forums (I'm not mentioning anything on this site, so don't anybody get offended) about Gundam, Ghost in the Shell, and Mechwarrior. They are all filled with people who know "The future of combat."
The only fictional device I've ever seen that may one day have a military equivalent are starships, and even then only if we end up populating other worlds and end up having inter-planetary wars. Even the famed space fighterplane would be mostly useless in reality if war ever came to that.
But I agree, I would love to pull up to work in one of those, rickety as they are.
ahhh soo slow!if i were inthere, ill be puking inside it
yeah, probably no good for military purpose, but i wonder if they'd help with construction purpose?
btw, it looks like a tadpole with just its leg grown![]()
lol hallo
Thing is awsome. Now, just imagine if those were paint-ball guns...
Not necessarily. They could always have wheel mechs with reinforced armor, and Smart Missiles (anti-air missiles that counter incoming air strikes).
The very same Smart Missile that America equipped to their Smart Artillery. You know, the artillery that reloads, targets, and shoots by itself, as well as protect itself from missiles (I.E. rocket launcher munitions).
It's not that they won't survive in war. It's just that they need certain armaments and technologies to survive on the battle fields (or to be deployed in small arms combat).
And here's a very shitty example, lol.

Reputation: 9give that mech kneel joints and a faster rotor ..and u got ur self a military vechile
Ooooooh...shinny robot!
I want one!If it had titanium reinforced armor,it WOULD survive in a war.But make it extra larger and extra faster.
The knees barely bend. That thing just...slides its feet across the floor.
I saw that mech video about two years ago so it's pretty old.
