there has been loading screen ads since steam was in beta's and there has been in game ads on some servers for about the same about of time lol, its just becoming more popular to the point where you can buy a cheap game server because it will display ads in the maps, you can always pay like £5 more to remove them and add your own to help pay for the serverits a good scheme thats been about for awhile.
