    Default Wtf? Need help with downloading rates.

    Right now I'm downloading something. (Pserver stuff.)
    It was going all fine and dandy downloading at 200+ kb/s;
    all of a sudden it goes down... and down... and down... to about 1.7 kb/s.
    It stayed like that for about 5 minutes, and now its going back up to 130-150ish kb/s.

    Why is my download rate going all over the place? Is it my computer, internet provider, or where I'm downloading from? I'm downloading from FileFront if that makes any difference.

    Help please. D:

    it could be spyware on your pc. But most likely your internet provider. I dont like filefront anyway, download managers wont work on it because it only allows single downloads at a time. If you want my advice, find a different mirror to download from, see if that helps. Otherwise get Ad aware, and scan your pc. If all else fails check out your internet providers website help centre, see if theres any info, if there is none, phone them and ask them if theres a reason.

    Thats about all the help I can give there.

    go to your modem where ever it is. Unplug it, or turn off your modem completley, LEAVE it exactly turned off for 20 seconds, after words plug it back it or turn it back on. WAIT 40 seconds before trying to download anything! because the modem need to shyncronize with the isp server after words

    Oooh...FileFront usually has pretty stable servers. So it's probably a router thing. Like mustang says, try re-connecting and resynchronizing.

    Also, which game are you using that PServer for? I'll play anything but WoW.

    I don't think it's anything like that.

    If it's changing speeds regulary, then it's probably just a server thing. The more people downloading from a particular mirror, the slower your download will become. Wait a while, it will soon change.
