Phil, no offence or anything, but what the **** were you smoking when you came up with this crap? The 8 on a digital clock is formed from the 7 different bars. So 8 doesn't become any number, the bars do. Plus, when the devil's number was created/dicovered/whatever, digital clocks were neither around nor close to even being around, so your theory, while interesting, is totally absurd.
And the number comes from Revelations 13:18 (KJV):
"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."
Where people get 616 I don't know.
Also, whenever you throw up the horns, a phone rings in Hell. So that's how you crank call Hell.
