Default Microsoft to create motion sensing controller?

Although the Wiimote (and the SIXAXIS, under certain conditions) already enjoy the luxuries that tilting can bring, it looks like those sticking with Microsoft's console will now be able to get in on fun as well. Thanks to a partnership with "specialist peripheral makers" Talismoon, the highly-regarded tiltBoard is reportedly getting an commercial makeover as it readies itself for "mass production." Details are admittedly scant right now, but the forthcoming product -- "which will bring tilt sensitivity for the Xbox 360 to the masses" -- is said to be "worth the wait" from its presumably jovial creator.

Sony copies off Nintendo, Microsoft copies off Sony.

In other cases, its just Microsoft copying Sony.

You can only copyright a design, not a specific technology.

Music counts as media. I don't know where peer to peer falls into that.

As far as I know you can copyright the name, materials, and use of the technology. Although I havn't looked up copyright in quite some time so I can't be sure.

So basically microsoft can find another way to achieve the same tilt effect and as long as they don't call it 6-axis they are ok...

And who the hell gives a **** who steals what! Seriously. You people are hung up on this issue that the console companies are people... THEY ARN'T. They are robots. All that matters at the end of the day is what features the console gives its users.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people care. When companies start copying off of each other, it makes them look bad. But I guess if you ran out of ideas, theres nothing better to do than to steal them.

But at the end of the day, all that matters is the Wii wins. If you think otherwise, then you undeniably and undoubtedly fail.

Not trying to be rude what's the big deal? So they're including something that should already have been in the controler really late. They'll probably charge a bunch of money for that crappy little feature when it does the exact same thing as the directional keys.

So Microsoft can't use tilt just because Sony/Nintendo used it? Your handicapping the Xbox gamers with your view. How would you feel if Nintendo had put in motion sensors AFTER Sony had announced thier tilt controller? Would it really matter?

And it's not really stealing... They havn't stole anything. They are just using what works. Stealing an idea would really only be applicable when the original idea was never put into play. The correct term is Innovate.

This is so gay. For real. Now, I don't believed Sony actually "copied" Nintendo, seeing as how they just have tilt and not full on motion sensing. I still think it was fairly unoriginal. However, this is copying Sony. This is SIXASIS in a 360 controller. There's not a single different factor about it.

Who the **** cares. What did you expect it to be a 5 axis controller? maybe 7 axis, can't make a 6 axis controller though cus sony has one.

Even if they do create it, it will be useless.
Just like the initial bare-bones 360, without an HDD.
Developers can't use the HDD for the main game features, because not every 360 owner has one. It's the equivalent of not having an HDD.

The same will be said for the controller-- why invest time in developing for hardware that only a small portion of the 360 userbase has?
