Studying in Switzerland - French or German language ?

Going to apply for a degree course in Switzerland at the start of next year at the International Hotel Management Institute (IMI), and I have to go through a language course - either French or German.

Wanna ask you guys, if I grew up in a English educated enviroment, is French or German easier to learn ? And which of these 2 is more frequently used in Switzerland ?

French is easier. However if your first language is english, then I'd actually go with German, because they have the same Germanic Styles


Anyhow, I take German, and it's pretty tough even though my First language is english :P

German is much harder than french because its too alike to english making you confused.

swiss has more of a germanic feel to the language.
I would recomend german because it would help you more in swiss than french

My cousin went to Switzerland for hotel manegement too. Dunno which one's easier to learn but they use German in most os Switzerland.
