Need Anime.

The new anime season, in Japan, has begun, and there are several good animes out.

Action, sci-fi, drama
watch Darker than Black (took over Codes Geass' time slot)

Mecha's
Idol Masters
Tengen Toppa (from teh people of Fooly Cooly)
Bokurano : more particularlly a drama, than action packed scenes. About 15 teens who think they'd be playing a video game, but it all turns out to be real. [I'm uploading to Veoh]
*Heroic Age* (This ones plot is turning out great. You'll just drool over the pre-show opening)

Fantasy
Claymore : about demons and those who where turned half-demons to slay them (so far, excellent plot)

and, My favorite category:

Nagasarete Airantou : nice ***** about a 14 year old boy who falls off a ship and washes onto an island of nothing but girls [I'm uploading to Veoh]
Tengen Topa <-it's both ***** and mecha


That's pretty much all for this season, don't forget the current season of Bleac, though.

Also, I'm in the middle of watching last years Tokko, about a guy who survived an 382 person massacure at his apaprtment complex who wants to revenge his parents for his sister, who got out with him, and ultimatly discovers that the killer were demons from hell.

I think he's not asking for an army anime but more of an anime with large scale battles. Utawarerumono and Code Geass have something in common (both main characters are commanders who instead of fighting themself, command others to do so (provides tactics). Other than those, two there arn't any other animes like that (maybe there are but not worth watching).

oh my. I didn't notice he was asking for army based, war animes. (The 2 he mentioned threw me off, as Utawarerumono was not a mility anime.)

But, yeah, of those I mentioned, Heroic age is a space based anime in which Humanity is fighting to regain earth from the hold of the Bronze Tribe and the Silver Tribe (note: in the anime, a race known as the Golden Tribe named all the races, Humans were called the Iron Tribe). It's space based mecha, with constant fights and a a biomecha inside a boy who was, when they found him and learned of the human race, the destined savior of Humanity. This being so, as he would inherit the strongest power of the remaining five members of the Heroic Tribe (civil war, very messy),

All of this is mention in the pre-opening of the first 3 episodes, details of the prophecy.

It's obvious that he wants something with large-scale combat, or army warfare.

I still stand with my GITS:SAC/2G suggestion. It's not exactly large-scale, but it deals with the Japanese militia, and refugee rights (2G) and a master hacker (SAC).

Yes, I know, but the owner of the book does NOT become a Shinigami himself. Well, not really important, but...yeah.....

I don't think he'll like Ghost in the Shell though, its NOTHING like Code Geass or Utawarerumono.

Raito/Light from Death Note is similar to Lelouch from Code Geass though as in they both have good intentions but go about doing it the wrong way (Raito wants to make the world pure of evil but goes about killing every criminal, no matter what the crime is, and ends up abusing his power without ever regretting it while Lelouch wants to free Japan but does it through "twisted" methods such as massacres).

Even though Death Note is not an army based anime, I'm sure he'll enjoy it more than Ghost in the Shell (I can relate to his tastes since they seem to be somewhat like mine) due to Death Note being more similar to Code Geass than it does to Ghost in the Shell (Raito uses manipulative methods).

Utawarerumono does involve the military (well, its not called the "military" but it involves armies which is like the military in the past), so it is somewhat as one.
