I actually think this is a reasonably cool idea, although it's a new low for blizzard :P
Kinda lame that it's only 1%.
Make it 10 and you got a deal...
While they're at it, maybe they want my liver too?

Reputation: 71You have to be a true addict to sign up for that... You have to spend $1500 to get one month free.. That's insanely stupid.
Thats not a bad idea, especially if the APR rate is low! I would apply for it, a credit card is a credit card. Cept with this credit card everytime you make a purchase you get credit to play wow...
wheres the bad?

@ Fabian: Also the servers for WOW would cost less than that of Halo. While WoW coding would be summed up as:
*Sword Animation
*Sound Sword Clink
*Fire Blast Animation
*Sound Fire Blast
*Display target message: You just killed fr33_f00d_pl0x.
Compared to:
*Move player left
*Player Jump
*Player fire continuously
*Player stop continuous fire
*Player rhythmic firing rate
*Player switch to Sniper
*Player Shoot and miss + X24 Y39 Z=-4X
*Player Shoot and Kill Player Six
*Display Message: Player Killed n00b_hal0_hax.
Nah I have no clue how programming for these servers work but i imagine it'd be less for a MMO compared to a 60 frames per second bloodbath with all this super advanced physics.
Yeah u really have to be addicted to buy something like that, there is nothing wrong with a WoW visa, I just think its taking it a bit too far.
How old do you got to be for it?
Its a credit card... you need to be 18. You also need to have good credit if you want to be approved. It's not as simple as "GIVE ME A CREDIT CARD"
Its just a credit card with some wow images on it!? How is it taking it too far?!Yeah u really have to be addicted to buy something like that, there is nothing wrong with a WoW visa, I just think its taking it a bit too far.
Reputation: 29Diablo sold over 7 million copies. SUX IT BOI.
Oh yes, next they'll say checks with Looney Tunes characters is taking it too far.
As for the Diablo III thing... They never confirmed it but they never shot it down. (But that's just my hope kicking in)
A 'golden' member of Blizzard (I forget if he was a programmer or what he did) said he hoped to see a Starcraft II appear within the next 10 years. Yep, that's what everyone wanted when they unleashed WORLD OF WARCRAFT! DISAPPOINTED MUCH!?
See All I'm Sayin' is all this over-dramatic bullshit fuss over a god damn credit card is un-needed.
'Taking it Too Far' -- Shove a sock in it.
'New Low for Blizzard' -- Let's talk about Microsoft for a second...
'Stupid' -- That's why too many of 'average' americans, europeans, ***** anyone with a damn car and the appropriate age OWN a credit card? Yet it's still stupid...?
Next you'll say getting paid interest on a bank account is 'stupid'.
Or Paying Taxes! YES EVERYONE PAYING TAXES IS STUPID! STOP PAYING THEM! QUICK! WATCH CIVILIZATION CRUMBLE!!!
I completely agree with Sandman here o_o.
It's just a WoW credit card. For those who play WoW regularly (if you call us nerds I swear I'm going to smash you with a sterotype-hammer) it's a good deal.
It's a credit card with a half naked night elf. Name something cooler than that. I dare you.
wasn't going to reply to this, but I saw this...
WHEN THE **** DID I POST HERE!?!?!
Did my little monkey get out of it's cage and impersonate me or something?
lol
But to answer your thing on the servers, I assume you mean the X-box live servers, because the PC's only server is the game-list server which is a single-server type of job.
But you are wrong in either way.
The Halo server's run with a few people on it at once. YOu have one server and that takes care of one game.
For WOW, one "server" that you see is in fact many servers put together to appear as one to the outside world.
My guess for one WoW "server" they are probably using around 30-40 servers to run it.
As for the software, the two work in a wire-frame type of way. There are no detailed graphics or anything for the system to proccess. Just basic info, and to run an empty server you could do that easily on a system with 512MB RAM, 1GHz CPU, either one.
Now, add players to it.
This system could handle about 4 Halo players, and then maybe 10 WoW players at a time with no to little Lag.
But where as each Halo match has up to 16 people(correct me if I'm wrong), one WoW "server" has thousands of players on at once.
And then one must also consider the power you need to put to the millions of NPC AI in the game, something Halo doesn't have.
tl;dr
You actually don't have any understanding on how game servers work and have it all ass-backwards(to put it lightly).
I was going to to tell First but Fabian got to him first.
The thousands of NPC's alone probably are equivalent to hundres of Halo servers..
Then we have thousands of people connecting to each of the same server. All this data is transfered- including every AI in the game. Theres only so much they can put on a disk for the server to give the information to run it. I worded that oh so wrong that i don't care to fix it.
think for everydollar u spend 1 CENT IN YOUR WOW TRUST FUND!
Your still thinking like a kid...
The whole point of a credit card is to spend large amounts of money that you don't have, and pay it off slowly over time. People who get credit cards usually don't use it to buy a magazine or some crap, they use them for large purchases.
Such as my friend who pays off her car with her credit car, thats about 200 a month just for that.
