    Default Nintendo's top 7 mistakes

How the videogame giant became the world's favorite underdog
    Words: Brett Elston

Anywhere you look in the world today, you'll see evidence of Sony's continuing downfall. It seems like every time someone from Sony opens his mouth, we want to twist our own heads off in disbelief. Can't that damn company go one day without embarrassing itself?

But if you think Sony's too cocky, arrogant and detached from the consumer base, you apparently weren't around for Nintendo's heyday. It was once just as influential, bossy and jerkish as Sony is today, and then some. Imagine a company with total control of an industry, where its word is law and no one can stand up against its decrees. Then imagine it falling from power so hard that companie

I love how everyone defending Nintendo hasn't even read the article. Typical of a fanboi. The fact is, the Wii is a gimmick, which is becoming a trademark of Nintendo. Every game has to be specially coded just for that one console and for some, its impossible. The console has a limited use and will therefore, quickly fall from grace.

The sales figures and popularity speaks for itself, theres no need for fanboi comments etc~ I'm not a Nintendo fanboi, but you got to admit that Nintendo is doing well despite all those "mistakes" they make and coming up against Sony and Microsoft~

The one fact...TO SHUT THEM ALL!

If it wasn't for Nintendo, there wouldn't be a Playstation brand. You see,it was supposed to be a more mature console of Nintendo. But Nintendo dropped it for some reason. Then, one of the guys brought it over to Sony and VOILA!The playstation brand.
And if there wasn't a Playstation brand, there'd be no Xbox.

GG,360 fanloser who wrote that article.

PS:I was hardcore Playstation fan until the third console.Right now,i'm more intrested in the Wii yet the PS3 looks great.
    More of a 50% - 50% fanboy.

They brought it to Sony? It was Sony's idea and Nintendo bailed on the contract. Yes, Ninetendo has high sales right now. So did the yo-yo at one point and acid washed jeans.

At this point... I do consider the Wii some what of a gimmick. Like Beanie Babies and Yo-Yo's. Only time can prove me otherwise at this point.

The Playstation is a solid console that has proven it can have stable sales after the release flux. I think the same will happen with the PS3. Xbox is still in its infancy in term of time so I have no comment on that.

Nintendo gave us some great consoles, up to the 64 ( I still think the 64 was a good console despite that it still used cartirdges.). But there downfall had started with the 64. I think Nintendo sort of made a last ditch effort with this console. I really don't see anymore innovative games that havn't already come out. And companies in the future that try to incorporate the Wii-mote into thier games... I think it would become a tedious task.

You're comparing Nintendo to the yo-yos and acid washed jeans ? Seriously, you a anti-Nintendo guy or something ? Did Nintendo somehow tortured you ?

I agree, the Wii is an utter absolute failure imo, that comes from a Nintendo follower since the gameboy. I love my DS, hate my Wii. Infact I'm either selling it and buying and XBOX360 or exchanging it from a person I know for a PSP and a PS2.

There's your truth from one person who usually loves Nintendo.

Excellent article. Informative, with an egde of humour. Those who thought this was written by a PS or XBOX fanboy obviously didn't read the entire thing(or didn't understand it) so you can go swallow something poisonous...

If you think that sony will be using a standard controller next generation then we will wait and see, cause controllers now have been influenced by Nintendo in many ways, heck, controllers look this way in the first place, shape wise, because of Nintendo. Analogue stick = nintendo, rumble = nintendo, shoulder buttons = nintendo, and probably more.
