    Samsung’s credit card-thin displays

Nope, your eyes ain’t deceiving you: this is Samsung’s new 2.2″ QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) credit card-thin AMOLED (active-matrix organic light emitting diode to its friends) display for mobile phones.

Featuring 262,000 colour output and able to display its image on both sides, the new AMOLED is just one-third the thickness of current LCD displays, measuring only 0.52mm deep. Seriously amazing stuff. There’s a 2.8″ version on the way too, boasting 240 x 400 pixel resolution.

    Beautiful...

By the way, it is hilariously pointless in all ways, but from a tech standpoint, I'm digging it.

    Just not paying for it.

Actually, another company already created a flexable version of the one here. I rememebr watching about ti on the History chanel, discussing the idea of "rolling up you laptop monitor."

The company showed a video of their techs flexing a video display, all be it, the guts of the display where linked to it externally.

note: It's called OLED's (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) <- can't remember if this is correct or not.
