Uninstall the games? Get rid of your internet? Format your PC and get rid of all games. Go outside? Make friends? Get a girlfriend? Get a job?

The only way to do it, is to uninstall the games, or get rid of your PC altogether.
If you can uninstall the game and get rid of the CDs/files, then you can overcome your addiction.
If you can't do that, then you're not serious about overcoming it, and you're going to keep doing poorly in school, favoring the game to your studies.

Theres only one game you can actually earn money on.. and thats Project Entropia and if your any good on it you could be like the guy on the news last year.. sold an island on there for £100k
Im not trying to encourage you to play games over hwk.. you can play games.. but if you live with anyone tell em to slap you or something or just to stop you going on if you try go on comp before youve done your hwk

Well...since you're talking about schoolwork and such I assume that you live with your parents. So just ask them to ban videogames until a certain time. You'll have nothing to do and you'll find yourself doing homework...it worked for me and it took me less time each week...So anyways good luck with that!

Man if I had the balls to bust my ass in front of people I'd love to go skateboarding. I used to be able to atleast ride the board without falling but now
I can't even keep 2 feet on it.

Anything can be an addiction to the vulnerable, just like gambling can warp you mentally, so can video games for sure. An addiction is a compulsion to repeat a behavior regardless of its consequences. Unlike most well known addictions, gaming is sort of under the rug. I think the real way to overcome a gaming addiction would be to realize your priorities in life, what people need of you, and to realize that you can't escape real life, so that you should deal with it before it bites you in the butt.

Pfffft... That is very simple my friend, just go play Runescape for a while. I'm 100% sure your addiction will be gone in minutes!

Why do people always say girls will cure you of addiction to games? Unless you're married or live with your girlfriend, you're not going to be around her all the time. So what's to keep you from playing then?

Anyway, the easiest way is just to quit playing. Just turn it off, and leave to do something else. Might be somewhat tricky, but I'm sure you have the will power.

Deleting games will just make you want to install them again. It's hard if your using the computer for work as I do.

I usually to forget about it go to a separate room outside and swing my arms, legs and head around crazily and just think about what if the ceiling had furniture. Then I eat a block of brie cheese and laugh heartily as I seep into my bean bag chair thing.

force yourself to do 50 pushups every time u turn the game on...That way if u weak u stop playing or if really want to play you get stronger....

Either ways its a win win situation.
