Curious what people feel out of the MMORPG's past, present, and future had the most fun Archer/Hunter/Ranger/Sniper class? It can be sci-fi, modern, or traditional fantasy genre wise since they basically use the same game mechanics.
My favorite has to be the DAoC Archer Class (Hunter - Mid and Ranger - Hib) which had *STEALTH*, self buffs, Hunter had an awesome pet (Procced Movement Impairing and Anti-Healing Disease on opponent), and solid Aimed Shot -> normal shot damage. You actually had to nock the arrow, shoot, then renock for shooting so it was slightly interactive. Distance of arrows was modified by terrain and stealth was a blast as you stalked around as a ranged assassin. So much fun in RvR running around the massive environment and trying to get the jump on other stealthers or solo people.
Have to agree. Ragnarok ftw. Hunters (and their rebirth, Snipers) get falcons, and Bards/ Dancers ( and their rebirth clowns/ gypsies) have dance and lute skills. Only archer classes that actually do more than arch.
Guild wars....... Ranger........ = PET SPIDER OH EM GEE..... Rangers can have a pet and the spiders are sooooo good. Not to mention some of the cool bows and skills......
Not a MMO but D2 had the Amazon which was VERY fun to be......
