    Default NOA Exodus

About 90 percent of the Nintendo of America Sales and Marketing staff, including Beth Llewelyn, Perrin Kaplan and George Harrison, have decided to quit the company rather than move to either San Francisco or New York, Game Informer is reporting.

The decision comes in the wake of Nintendo of America's decision to relocate marketing staff to the two cities. It is not clear when or if their positions - Senior Director of Public Relations, Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Affairs and Senior Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communications - or the positions of the rest of the staff will be filled.

Nintendo has not yet responded to requests for comment from Kotaku, but I'll make sure to update when and if they do. Brian Crecente

Its one thing to lay off some staff but, when 90% of your marketing staff QUITS you're clearly doing something wrong.

The problem with that is that 90% of them quit. I really doubt 90% of them would quit over a change of cities. Look at it like this, you keep your nice well paying job or you quit to live jobless in Seattle. Then again, they could always get jobs over at Microsoft or Sony...but I doubt either would want sloppy seconds.

They have jobs in MARKETING, moving is kinda expected when your job is to market big name products all over America.

yeah they are Marketing, and thats an easy job to get when you have a resume as being a head Marketer for all of Ninendo. I might be wrong but i believe Nintendos HQ for marketing is located up in WA where I live.

First, one can't be sure if they didn't want to move. But, San Fransisco and New York are both very unique cities, and not everyone can really enjoy a life in either city.
Second, your last sentence of the first paragraph shows a lack of understanding of how the job market is. Companies more often then not will try to hire employees of competitors.
And they worked for Nintendo, which no matter what your opinion is, they are one of the most influential companies for the past decade. Love him or hate him, Mario is EVERYWHERE. Every god damn place there is mario. Even people that have never played a video game know mario, and this is partial due to marketing.
    That is a huge accomplishment.
You come from a important position from a big company like that, and you can look forward for other companies fighting over you.

Second, it's no more common to move in marketing than most other jobs. Yes, you market around the US, but that doesn't mean you need to be all around the US to do that. You only need to be at one place. If you need some data of an area, you have other people get that data. There are actually companies that are set up JUST for that kind of thing, to collect data for other companies.

Congrats on being an arrogant prick.
What the **** does it matter to you?
Did the Wii **** you as a little child or something? Don't like the Wii? Ok. THEN DON'T ****ING GET ONE.

It doesn't matter what your opinion on the console is, the Wii is currently the best selling video game system in HISTORY. You may not like it, which you are free to, but a lot of people do.
But does it somehow hurt you that people like the Wii more than the 360 or PS3?
I don't get what it is with you fan boy idiots. Just enjoy your damn console and let other people enjoy their damn console.

You don't ****ing believe that the Wii is the best selling in history?

Go through every damn system they got there, with the starts being aligned.
The Wii is selling like hot-cakes, and Nintendo is pulling a huge profit from it. That is fact.

Stop being such big ****ing idiots.
