You are incorrect on many levels.
Now, for a battle between two characters to be at it's best, you need to take the two at their strongest. Unit-01's strongest point was after it had ingested the S-2 engine, which esentally made it a god.
At a 100% sync ratio(or Beserk) and the S-2 engine, Unit-01 could slice things at the sub-atomic level. It could make an impenetrable barrier that NOTHING could get through. Hell, it could bend light.
Now, you know what happened to the world, with all the flooding and other shit?
That happened because they were trying to capture something(Adam) with an S-2 engine.
And that was just a light sample.
The South-western states of the US vanished in an S-2 related accident.

What the S-2 engine does is, simply put, creates raw energy in extremely high quantities. Direct an infinite source of energy at anything you want, and it's simply ****ed.
In the worst case scenario, a S-2 engine could vaporize a whole universe.
You want to talk about mass destruction, theres your mass destruction.
Not to mention that the nirvash are so damn small. It's hard to tell exactly the Eva's hight, because it did change often for visual purposes, ranging from about 40m to 60+m. For all purposes, lets go with 40m, the nirvash are 15m, at the tallest. I'd be afraid of one of those getting smashed under an Eva's foot
