Since the newest patch is being localized now and has been since 5/23 I'd say you have between 2-6 weeks at most until it goes F2P.

If your talking about Codemaster's RF, well they didn't get much profit from their p2p stint, i very much doubt they'll be able to milk any dough from changing to f2p with cash shop.
If its Philippine RF though from levelup, their still pretty much enjoying a good profit from many local gamers, though there has been rumors, they themselves haven't announced any plans whatsoever to change to f2p mode.

Oh dont worry, just give codemasters some time with preparing the game to be f2p. If u were a developer who is trying to rush things with making RF online f2p, think of all the things u need to do before the game is released f2p. First of all, u have to get the word out. Everyone out there probably doesnt know RF is going f2p soon. Second, they have other games they r tending to also, RF isnt trying to be the main game on their schedule. And last, the developers have a life too just like everyone else. They cant possibly stay 24/7 and work on a game without having problems of their own.
Give codemasters some time.

Grrr, very tired of repeating myself. *YES* North American RF Online is going F2P with Item Mall. The most current patch from Korea is being localized and processed to work with Codemasters Item Mall. The work on it started just after it was released on 5/23 in Korea. It is being worked on as fast as possible, so you can expect another 2-6 weeks in all likelihood till the change over. The game is the worst grind imaginable, I was playing a p---server with 30x rates, and it took like an hour to level at 10.

I'm with Fieren.It's good in PvP,but what I like the most in RF is its style(futuristc but you can use swords,axes and bow),the idea of ridin' a mech is well thought,as well.And graphically it looks great.I enjoyed the game very much,even though some stuff's missing.

Well, to all of the posters reading these rather mixed replies....
RF Online is a kind of love it or hate it game, which is quite a bad situation that the game has gotten itself stuck in, but it's alright.
All in all, the PVP really saves the game, and the PVE, while grindy, is alright...
However, if they don't increase the rates soon, I'm pretty sure playing a P-sever would be the way to go.
