Default Some serious thoughts and discussion.

How do a person view life and death? Is there really a heaven or hell, or have mankind invent religions to shield and bath us in illusional truth. We live everyday, some in harmony while other at war,not thinking or avoiding the idea of what come after death.

It real scary if you just imagine it.To died and forget.Forget all the people you love, forgotten all the thing you know, forgotten the person you used to be.Eternal nothingness might await you in death.

Even if there are a heaven and hell. There Jesus and the Lucifer. There still plenty of religion and that what bothering me.Doesn't it say that in the bible you are to place God before everything else? What if you don't believe in god but in another god? Will you go to hell just for that?Devoting your life and getting the firery pit in the end just for that.

Soul?Even if we have a soul and wonder the Earth.Just know that nothing last forever and that including Earth too.So if we die without something to hang on.Would we just be floating the endless space until the end of time.

Some of you guy might think I'm just being crazy, and that might be true. But the questions to life and death might never be answer unless you actually died.and if that do happen you wouldn't even know the answer in itself.

Also,I'm not drunk or high while typing this ~.~

Personaly I don't belive in heaven or hell. I belive that when you die you just just don't exist anymore. I belive religion is just a way for people to feel more secure about things they don't understand.

well, to tell you the truth i dont think anyone really knows. i just know what happened to me. when i was younger i fell into water and couldnt swim. my lungs started to fill with water and i couldnt hold my breath. it hurt for a little bit... after a while things started to seem so quiet and dark. after, everything in my body felt... well... good lol, really really good. after a saw a very small light and i felt calm. then i woke up with a life guard doing the whole chest thing or w/e and my mom crying, and me throwing up.

anywho, im going to be off for a few days so ill see you guys later.

Well i beleive in religion, because we really dont know what will happen, here on after. We just beleive in things, but we did get many signs...Such as (Jesus Christ, or Prophet Mohammed, and many other people) They have tried giving us signs, but i think we failed in beleiving them.

Religion is not just to keep crimes away, cause their is still some crimes going on. Plus if people would think that way then they would know...that religion is just BS, and go around doing other crimes.

So I would rather beleive a true Religion, and stick with it, and see what would happen here on after. The two main Religions that are populated in this world is Christianity, and Islam.

    So yea..

I seriously doubt that. Where did you hear this? You don't even know what book it's in? Or even if it's OT or NT? I've been searching the web, and have yet to come up with anything. All I've found is that the bible, even the New Testament, still thinks the heart is the seat of the body.

Well, your argument is pretty worthless right now. I suggest you try and find the passages.

well, thats what google said anywho.
"For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible..." (Col. 1:16a) The Bible mentions here that there are things that exist that are invisible to the naked eye. By "invisible," could the Bible be talking about atoms and subatomic particles as well as other unseen forces?"

It could be, but it's not likely. For one thing, atoms aren't invisible. It could also refer to radio waves or electro magnetic fields. Or it could refer to aether, or the invisible pink unicorn. It's far too vague to mean anything.

You need to be quite close-minded to not believe there is something more to this universe. Even just staring at the sky during a cold star bloated night is enough to rigour a sense of realisation that there is something more to this universe. We are the only perfect planet on the solar system. The perfect conditions for man, we also have no rivals for existance except ourselves. Day and nights seem to be perfect, and our bodies, forms, looks, and instincts all seem perfect. Every single human has a different genetic identity, is that by accident. Is all this, the balance of the universe, the planets, use just a freak accident? I dont think so, and neither should you.

However I'm not a christian, the christian faith is flawed and doesn't prove anything. I have proof of Gods existance. As a Muslim, I believe that the Qu'ran are basicly words from God. So, the faith was founded at 500AD in the middle of the arabian desert. All that lived here were very poor bedouin tribes, and these are the revelations created:-

1-Everything is made out of smaller atoms or be it cells, yes this is in the Qu'ran if you'ld like to search but i dont have the exact translations.

2-None of the material and the elements on earth ever came from earth. Especially Iron.

3-It speaks about how humans were created, it goes something like this, im not to sure you must check first. Humans evolve from a gum like substance to bone then clothed in flesh. This has actually just been proven, its not been more than 20-30 years since humans found out, and its been 1500 for us.

4-It speaks of the earths begining as a collection of gases then an explosion.

Those are just SOME of the proven facts.

My modship has nothing to do with my inclination to debate. I've been debating in these sort of threads since I joined.

And availer, I personally find it more awe inspiring and humbling to look into the night and realize my insignificance than to think that I am somehow the culmination of the universe.

Also, if you're going to make statements like that, you should have sources to back them up.

Actually, there are other universes with those conditions for life. We aren't unique.
And everything seems perfect to those without a deep study of these subjects because they don't know of any other way.
Truth is, our bodies are very poorly designed. One of the poorest designs in biology.

And perfect is not a real form of measurement. "Perfect" is an idea that is very opinionated and changes from person to person.

I completely disagree that we are living in the "perfect" conditions for man.

Actually, what this is from is that most often those that are picked as staff are quite intelligent. This is not to say that we only pick intelligent people, or that every single staff member is very intelligent, but the people that has the qualities of a good staff member is also often quite intelligent.

The main thing that gets me with religions is, you all say that there is only "one true religion" or what ever.
Yet not a single one can come up with an argument that actually trumps any other religion without trumping their own.

I will simply stick to what I know to be real, what can be proven, tested, recored.

And if there is a god, if there is this 'heaven and hell', I would think that a real god would judge people not by what the believe, but by the content of their heart. If they were a good person or not, no matter the personal opinions of that person.
Any kind of god that judges you based upon if you believe in him is a self-centered egotistical bastard and I want no part of his "palace"

I'm more of an agnostic type person I don't really belive in a god.
I belive in Reincarnation well because I was brought up hindu/ sikh.
Again I realize that I am a Buddhist type if I had to choose a religion because it has hindu base in it. It also deals with nirvana, spirit, and reincarnation. They don't nessecary belive in a god according to the Dalai Lama who belives that there is no god but more of a spirit.

You know, i would stop and think almost forever if anything of this sort would be true. Only the dead knows the truth, and we cant particularly hear them anymore. But make no mistake....the dead....are not silent. Just sit in ur room at night with everything off and ask the pitch blackness a yes or no question. If u hear a soft bump or given a sign, then its a yes.

I got than info off of Ghostbusters from FX channel.

So I was thinking about this the other day, and I have an odd belief.

I don't believe we ever die.

To be quite honest, I hold faith in the idea that we will continue along on one time line while other time lines that branch off our time line dies, but even those branches live. We perceive ourselves to live but others perceive us to die. For example, others die around us, but to us, we are always alive. While, you may be viewing other people's branches of their time line that has died in our perspective rather then their own.

I'm curious to know if there is a term for this.

First of life in meaningless as it is. Secondly the sun isn't going to explode for a LONG time. By then we will have people on different planets(if we arn't wiped out by then). Plus theres a good chance we arn't the only living creatures in the universe. And it's spelled "what" not "wath".
