    Elder Scrolls Series
The D&D based games, if you want a good story try Planescape, its got one of the best rpg storylines ever.
    And there are always emulators.

For pure fun try the game 'Overlord' (new release. You'll laugh your head off). For something a little darker try 'Thief 3: Deadly Shadows' (this may just be the best game I've ever played, scared the crap out of me).

    Enjoy.

first off thief isn't an RPG its a FPS/SA(stealth action)
as for a good PC RPG,as mentioned Baulder's gate is a good series, you could also try fallout, though thats more post-apocolyptic.
SoulBringer is another good one if you can find it.

Oops my bad, I thought Thief was an RPG because you take on the 'role' of Garret. Ah well, it's the first game of this type I've ever played and I absolutely love it. I've never played anything like it, it's brilliant!

Mind you, I do play it like an RPG using the third person view. For anybody who's looking for something a bit different to play I highly recommend it. Sadly, I don't think you can get it in stores anymore. But for $20 you can buy it (in download form) from Steampowered Games: http://www.steampowered.com/v/index....pId=6980&cc=US

Best 20 bucks I've ever spent.
