I read what mattered in the rant. Everything up to the last 3 paragraphs which seemed like...I'unno, a conclusion to a shitty broadcasting.

I disagree with quite a bit of that rant. The only thing I can see myself even remotely agreeing with, however, would be that Nintendo did loosen their grips on the whole "Gamers come first," methodology.

This. This gave me something to laugh about. What you're hoping for is asinine in the least. A slight delay should be the least of your worries considering that a wireless controller always has some sort of delay since it must send signals through the air to a receiver which then sends it to the console, instead of electric signals through a cord to the console. Another thing is that you're using motion commands. Not a simple press of a button.

Of course, you won't notice such delays on other controllers because you aren't freehanding a cursor around on screen. The only thing they can do is up the sensitivity of the controller. The CoD3 issues you were having, though, are all on Activision. There have been no issues with RE4's control scheme on the Wii, and MP3 seems to be running perfectly in the Ridley boss fight.

Now, the Zelda thing. That's also a bit silly. The wiimote's technology isn't meant to read and translate every little movement, and display that exact movement on screen. I think most everybody's grasped that idea.

A xbox killed a baby not a 360.. Atleast thats what I remember....

I pretty much agree with your rant, however I'll be getting a Wii later on.
It's supposedly a whole new system, wich introduces new ways of gameplay, so the devs are still learning to make the interaction with the game more immersive and precise. It's still no reason to see ports from the Gamecube, PS2, PSP and DS with flashy new names being spammed like this, new system and controls, sure.. But to play more of the same Marios..

Now, before i begin, i know noobs are gona go apeshit over this, and so be it, lock the topic if it goes out of control.

I'd like to state right now that i am not a fanboy of any game company over another, i have owned the ps3, the 360 and the wii, wich the wii was sold, and is gona be explained through this post why i sold it, and why i despise it so much.

Now, i have always loved nintendo a bit more then other game companys, due to the fact that my earliest gaming memories are playing megaman on the NES having a blast.

but now, with there so called next gen console the Wii, my view towards nintendo has changed quite a bit.

First, im talk about the controls. when i first heard of it, i was damn exited, wow, moving my controler like if it was a bloody sword and ripping through my enemy's, pointing in fps game's seamed like it would be alot easyer. im not a graphic ***** so i dint really mind how weak the console was at the time.
When i finaly got my Wii, a month after launch, with my zelda, CoD3, and some other games, i was exited.....till i booted the console.

First thing i noticed while going through the wii menu.. is the slight delay on the wiimote and the pointer, wich i told myself would probly not make much of a diference. So i first tryed zelda, dint expect to much of it since its only a port, but expected decent controls.
my first impresion was: what the ****?
alright, so, to swing my sword, i do have to move the wiimote, yes, but slashing motions? not really, just twiching my hand will work, in fact, doing a jerking motion was the most effective way to swing the damn sword. thats suposed to be ituitive? jerking off to kill shit? if someone jumped you and your friend and you only had a knife to defend yourself, you'd be like ''I GOT DIS BRA'' and jerk your hand up and down with he knife in it and get punched in the face? awesome.
i played zelda a bit more and got tired of it and put it aside, next was call of duty 3! a fps! now i was exited....only to be let down again.

so the delay does indeed show quite a bit like i feared. the way nintendo tryed to cover this in fps games, is by making the sensibility incredibly high, so by moving the wii mote a bit to fast you would do a 720 and shoot the sky, wich wasent to fun, cause call of duty is suposed to be a fast paced kill evry thing you see game, move fast, aim fast, kill fast. but with the ****ing Wii mote i was spinning around like a balarena looking like a complete idiot getting shot in the face.

this pretty much asured that evry other fps games would blow ass cause of this. not only this, but games like dragon quest sword wich i was exited about seeing on the wii...was i just gona be jerking my mote again, or drawing a line on the screen for my slashes? pathetic

aight. Next was exite truck. the tilt on the wii mote worked fine to make it work like a wheel. fun fun...

so yeah, that pretty much sums up the controls.

now, for the game library.
Well boys and girl! turns out nintendo doesent care about gamers anymore! but they do give you plenty of exiting games for your whole family to enjoy! like cooking mama!happy feet! and more shitty games based upon terribad disney movies! OMFGWTFBBQ you say! me too!
sure, the wii has a few interesting titles, zelda, if you like jerking that bad, mario party, wario ware. paper mario. and you know, a 4th port of RE4. exiting! oh, and like 8 games like mario and metroid,smash bros.,(i think bros is comming out near x-mas tho) comming out NEXT YEAR!

it seams like nintendo totaly forgot about the real gamer who wants a long lasting game he can play by himself and have fun. not to mention the terrible online, i aint even getting into that. ****ing friend codes.
and the upcomming games? same shit we have seen in the last 20 years, mario, metroid, and such. honestly, nintendo needs to get a bit more original. it was fun the first like 8th times i played games with those characters, but you know, ID LIKE TO SEE SOME NEW LIKE, NOW.

And all this goes without mentioning the wii's power, now, look at the ps3 and 360, those consoles can last pretty long just based on there hardware, specialy the ps3. but the wii? common, you all know nintendo is most likely gona come out with a new console within 2 years, wich will probly be an upgraded more powerfull wii, wich you will have to purchase to keep playing them ever so awesome 6 interesting games there gona be releasing evry year.!

About the sensitivity..You do know there is an option to turn the sensitivity down right? On the wii menu there's a button in the lower left corner of the screen which says "Wii Settings" then just go from there. Or check out where you put the sensor bar, and configure it in the settings. There are 2 options somewhere in there that ask you where the location of the sensor bar is, "Above TV" "Below TV".

And yeah, I've noticed from wii tennis to where you can just flick the remote to the left or right and hit the ball with amazing force, but you can make it a bit more realistic by ignoring that flaw and swing like a real tennis player, your mii will still hit the ball.

And on Wii Golf, I've noticed that you could hold the wiimote in front of you vertically, like bowling, and motion as if your killing a bug with a flyswatter and your mii will hit the ball. But also, you could ignore that flaw and turn it into something good. Swing the wiimote like a real golf club and your mii will basicly do the same thing.

And about the "Shitty games for families". Well, gee, I was certain that on one post somewhere in this topic, Cereal&Milk (that made me lmao for some reason. o_o) made a list of released/upcoming games and some that are perfect for our age group. And also on youtube, I remember watching a video for another upcoming game (i forgot the name) with Swords, Guns, and whatnot? Part of the name was "Metal", but there was another part..Anyway...

And if your still not satisfied, just plug in your Nintendo Gamecube controllers (if you have some), your memory cards, and insert a GC game disk, and play some Gamecube games.

EDIT: Also, just play the Wii if you want a workout (like with boxing) the controls for that work fine for me.

I think there was an exeption..I guess nintendo wouldn't want the wii to be completely T rated..it's probably 80% or 90% Friendly based.

Also, I've heard somewhere that Nintendo is trying to encourage less violence. The company of Grand Theft Auto requested that their game be on the Wii, but the Nintendo Company denied their request.

The only thing that will make me happy with my Wii is if Smash bros...
