Not only are they banning you, but if you want to get back “online” you must. . .buy a new console.
A couple of announcements have been made about the Sony Playstation Home service.
Sony’s Peter Edward has said
If you really, really misbehave you can have your console disconnected at a machine level, so you would actually have to move house and buy a new PS3 before you could get online again.
If you don’t think you have enough self control to act polite on Sony’s Home Service. . .Sony will Brick your PS3.
On another note Peter also said
A large proportion of our demographic is over 18 so we will make a point of catering to that demographic. We certainly don’t want to dumb everything down to the lowest common denominator.
We now know Sony will not try to market the PS3 toward the casual gamers like Nintendo has. I know a lot of you gamrs were worried with the success of the Wii that Sony may try and imitate them in some way shape or form. We may not be able to guarantee this on all aspects of the PS3, but we can confirm it for the Home service.
