    Default RF Online UK Announced to F2P on 26th AUG!!

    Codemasters Online unleash largest ever line-up of games at this year’s Game Convention

    Codemasters Online have today announced their largest ever line up of games at this year’s Games Convention. Taking place in Leipzig, Germany on August 23rd – 26th, this all encompassing line up will feature the full range of Codemasters Online titles including the number one selling game The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™. Also on show will be the recently announced FREE MMORPG ArchLord, RF Online, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE™: Stormreach™ and the long awaited action MMO, FURY.

    “It’s fantastic to be part of this year’s Games Convention,” said David Solari, Vice President and General Manager, Codemasters Online. “With GC rapidly becoming the world’s largest consumer convention, we are delighted to bring so many titles to the many enthusiastic gamers attending this year’s Games Convention.”

    Headlining Codemasters Online’s attendance will be The Lord of the Rings Online, commanding a huge presence with its own dedicated stand showcasing the game’s second free content update, Book 10: The City of the Kings. The Codemasters Online team and Turbine’s Jeffrey Steefel, Executive Producer, will be in attendance to guide players through the most epic fantasy world of all time, Middle-earth.

    Also revealed at this year’s Games Convention will be Europe’s first look at the much anticipated free-to-play online role-playing game, FURY. Set for release in October, FURY combines online persistent world depth with heart pumping PvP action like never seen before in any previous MMORPG. The development team behind FURY, Auran will be officially on hand to demonstrate this cutting edge, Unreal Engine 3 powered MMORPG.

    ArchLord, RF Online, Dungeons & Dragons Online™: Stormreach™ and FURY will all be showcased on the OnlineWelten stand, Hall 4 B01. The Lord of the Rings Online booth is located in Hall 4, F01. We look forwards to seeing you there!

    I KNOW RF Online is moving to a F2P model, but in the statement E-3 posted, no where does it mention RF Online moving to the F2P model on the 26th. It simply lists Archlord as the newly free MMORPG.

    And DrakeAre, none of those other games (Fury, LotRO, D&D Online) are going F2P. Sorry.

    I heard RF Online is really grindy though, especially since everything needs to be trained, meaning your weapon type usage has a training bar, your shield usage has a training bar, your magic usage has a training bar, and you need to use those skills in order to level them up. Guess I never really got into the game, but hey, if it's p2p going f2p I suppose it can't be that bad huh.

    The convention is the 23rd to the 26th. Nothing about RFo going F2P on the 26th.

    Please read like this:
    Also on show will be the recently announced FREE MMORPG ArchLord (break), RF Online(break), DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE™: Stormreach™(break) and the long awaited action MMO, FURY.

    The only one in this section of the quote that is mentioned free is Archlords. The rest is still the same.

    And you must remember, it aint gonna f2p because they need more players, or they want to have profit with cash shop.

    Its going f2p because they were told to! They didnt wanted to go f2p, they didnt needed to go f2p;

    So we are winning a f2p game thats worth of p2p.

    Yup, but it wasnt in its own announcement, it was mentiond amongst other things, hence it been too much of a pain to look for again. There was no mention of a date then, only that the payment model would change.
