F2P without cashop is every gamer's dreams, but face it, you'll be driven from the game because of the lack of support due to poor finances.

I wouldn't mind paying for it at all, it seems like a nice game. Though my opinion could change once I actually get to play it though.

And why was this thread started? I don't see any news on their front page regarding this issue. I doubt whatever we say here will have an effect.

    Free to play with cashshop.
But without overpowering items that ruins the game for players who dont use cashshop.

P2P- the majority would expect much more out of the game. Better graphics, animations, service, more variety in armors, weapons, and other gear. There would a lot that would need to be done on order for this to become P2P material.

F2P- This is a nice idea, but what would your profit method be?
    >Premium accounts for a small monthly fee (premium members would get special features only allowed to them).
    >Buy the client and no monthly charge. Again, this idea would require a lot of demands from the members of the community. Almost as much as a P2P profit build.
    >Advertisement (sponsors would build your profit). This would consist of a lot of advertisement. Depending on how you place it, some members may find the game less desireable.

F2P w/item mall. This profit build is becoming quite mainstream. If done right, it can please the majority of gamers. A fair price on item mall items and keeping them as consumables only would be ideal (no premanent weapons or armor).
Some great consumables for an item mall would be:
Hardsteel Ammo- adds 20% more damage to your ranged weapons (lasts for 48 hours)
Hardsteel Sharpener- adds 20% more dmage to melee weapons (last for 48 hours)
Hostile evalution program- targets give 10% more exp per kill (last 6 hours)
Dynochem- reduces the use of energy by 10% (lasts 24 hours)

These are some examples of item mall gear you should have. You can also give them "grades" (grade c to s). Where grade c give you a small bonus/time and grade s gives you the maximum bonus/time.

IN the end, it all depends on how much effort you really want to devote to the developement and quality of service for the game.

Ah, okay then. Had no idea you were one of the company's staffs. Ignorance ftw.

But yeah, going with what c7c said..

P2P - Though I personally don't mind paying for any games that I enjoy, I doubt that's the case for most people you'll find lurking around here, and in general. I have no say in the quality of the game because I haven't tried it out myself, so i'll just believe what c7c said, that the game is currently not p2p material.

F2P - Honestly, I don't see many ways to make profit using this at all. Except the Premium Account thing. At times, it could possibly be more appealing than the item mall. You could offer more updates/sooner updates, more items, special features, members only areas, monster, quests, minigames, etc etc. All this while still updating the regular "free" word with contents to keep those players happy. If this is done right, it can rig in just as much money as an item mall if not more.
-Advertisement: This should be used only as a last resort imo. Ads ruin the feel of a game. Some players will understand that it's for the good of keeping the game running, but i'm sorry to say that unfortunately much of the gaming population out there don't even try to think that far.

F2P w/ item mall - Agree with C7C as well. This is becoming more common, and games that go this route do make money from it. There are a lot more people who would use the item mall on a regular, even daily basis, than others think. One of my friends..actually spent nearly $500 once, buying item mall things in MapleStory. This would requires a bit of smart variations and looking at the community, seeing what they want. There might be outburst for something, if that gets added quickly and efficiently, it could rake in some good cash. They do this for Soldier Front, and it worked.
    - Again, I can't comment on what should be in the IM because I haven't seen the actual game. But the generic stuff always ensure money. People are impatient, and they will pay to get things done faster .

^ That is probably the safest route to go. It's what most people are familiar with, and feel safe with. Regardless of the constant complaints about "omg he PAID REAL MONEY TO GET ADVANTAGES!! UNFAIR!!", they still play, and some eventually give in to the urge and pay up themselves (so that's a good thing). Everyone wants a perfectly perfect F2P game with no cash shop, no nothing, but that's just like asking for a Utopia, we all know it's impossible unless you have Bill Gates funding 100% of the game. Premium Accounts are good too, but only once the game gets enough exposure and you can be sure people are willing to pay for more (imo).

The game is only in CB. You guys have a lot of time to consider your options and adapt if needed.

EDIT: Omg, never turn on Automatic Computer Shutdown if you know you're gonna write long stuff. Luckily I hit the submit button fast enough..else..gah.

LMAO, I hate that PC feature......

What you said before about Premium account features within a f2P/item mall profit build is a good idea. It would allow those that are hardcore fans of the game to gain benefits that are not in the item mall for a monthly fee, and still have the option of the item mall. Maybe something that higher level gamers would appreciate more than the low level item mall shoppers.

If you combined the two (F2P/ item mall and premium members), it would make for a great way do produce a profit that will allow almost top notch services and customer support.

    @Kelador

That company who went out of business, cause they thought they can turn a F2P NA game into a P2P NA game, was Progressive Worlds.

IMO, F2P with cash shop, with cash shop items that doesnt make the people that buy cash godly, and the non cash buyers weak.

A Good Cash Shop, attractive, that can give you profit, and still make the game balanced, is perfect.
