What are your Phobias?

I've got something like that. I'm pretty afraid of going into the ocean or swimming in dark swimming pools.

I'm claustrophobic. Theres nothing worse I can think of than being traped in a very small space. I'm also scared of lakes and oceans and stuff like that.

I get chills every time I look at somthing like that. There's just somthing about underwater that freakes me out.

Edit: Oh yeah. I totatly forgot about heights. I wen't up in the St. Louis arch once. Scared the shit out of me.

You don't have arachnophobia just because you are afraid of spiders, or think they're icky and don't like to touch 'em. That goes for all phobias, I merely use that one as an example. A fear is one thing, but a phobia can be diagnosed by a psychologist due to the irrational reactions they bring about, usually to the most mundane of things. It sounds like the thread starter may actually have one, and unless AlexVB is joking around then I would trust him to be telling the truth too, but I'm tempted not to believe the rest of you.

Im not scared of lakes or oceans at least. Every summer i go up to my uncles lake and swim there. The water is also really murky and you can't see through it. But its not that deep and many people go in it .

Truely I've been diagnosed with all three. I mean, I freak out at heat, but I'm not scared of it, so I didn't put it up there.

I truly do have Arachnaphobia. >_< When I see spiders, my body just locks up and all that comes out of my mouth is a sort of muffled shriek. T_T I don't even know why either, when I was younger I used to have to kill them all the time, but now I can't stand them. And when I do see spiders in the daytime, I usually have dreams about them...and it's scary because I can see them so close up! *cries* I once stayed up all night because I didn't want to see the spiders...

And I don't necessarily have a phobia of heights, I just REALLY don't like them. Like, I'm always afraid of falling. >_> So I stay away from edges, and if I get close to an edge, I get nervous and really scared. I don't think it's a phobia though...

I am really scared shitless by worms and bugs that look like they can dig into my skin. Pretty sure it has something to do with the time that a bug nearly made it's way through my skin and inside me. I was just laying down one day (must'e been 12 years old) and all of a sudden I feel sting on my arm. I see this ****ing bug wriggling it's little ****ing way into my skin. Of course I swatted the ****er, but I just spent the rest of the day in the restroom scrubbing my arm off and trying to convince myself that it was dead. Scared the **** outta me.

when i was a kid i got tackled by a dog that was at the time nearly twice my size then it bit my neck and i had 5 cuts and two of them merged together so i had to get that stictched
well ever since then until last year ive been scared of dogs my whole life
like just thinking about it made me freeze on the spot

Phobia Bugs - i also hate bugs... they scare me lols....

I know you said not to say "I'm afraid of spiders" and stuff...but, I am pretty terrified of bugs. I don't like bugs AT ALL, and certain ones are enough to make me leave the place they are in. I hate bugs. .__.;


I'm afraid of crowds and I'm always worried theres gonna be a pedo somewhere. I used to get it a lot worse than I do now, but, in social situations, I'd freak out and have to leave, either because I was shaking or vomiting in fear.

You can say your scared of spiders, but its not a phobia
If you are so terrifed of spiders you run like hell when you see one, or you like flip over a table with one on it, thats phobia

Seems claustraphobia is common, and fear of heights...
