Do you Despise Anime???

Anime's alright by me. I watch a few anime shows. What I do despise are the people who are absolutely obsessed with anime. I also despise people who plagiarise anime.

I have no problem with anime, just the people who watch it and fall into any of the categories of people I already didn't like.

I love anime

I watched the entire Sailormoon series (all of them) and watched some a fair share of the many Dragonball series when I was a little toddler about yay high

So it's only natural that I have grown to have a liking for anime!

BTW: Sailormoon is actually quite hilarious... in chinese... hey, i watched it when i was VERY young okay?! I'm not ashamed... it's a good series :mad:

Cartoons is NOT the same thing as anime. for example. watch camp lazlo or fosters home for immaginary friends... and then watch say... shaman king or naruto... Totally different.

It's a rarity to even watch anime for me, they seem to appeal to the younger crowd/otaku (I don't want to get into that). But I've come across some japanese animation movies that I do enjoy from time to time such as Akira, Princess Monoke, and Vampire Hunter D.

Oh good freaking God! Vampire Hunter D was the absolute worst thing I have ever subjected my poor eyes too. Course, it was the second one or whatever, so maybe the first doesn't suck. But God did I hate it.

As for the other movies you mentioned, I think Miyazaki did them. That guy is a total genius.

It all depends on how loose of a definition you have for cartoon. A cartoon can be anything from an animated series to a comic strip. Granted, anime is unlike most other cartoons, but technically, it falls into the category.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about Ghost in a Shell, that was a good one. And I don't like the generalization that ALL Americans are stupid, some Americans are well educated.

Yes, SOME, but some is not all. When talking about a large group of people, you need to generalize. And, in general, the in-habitanits of the US arn't the brightest.

You can educate a monkey, but it'd still be a monkey. I've got to agree though, that's a harsh stereotype.

Those shows are crap for a very simple reason. They have no end.

Every story has a begining, a middle, and an end. If it is missing ANY one of those parts, it's not a story.

DBZ was originaly suppose to be only one arch, the first one. But the production company FORCED the creator to make more via black-mail.

And then Naruto, it's just over-produced. It has dragged on too long.

i enjoy watching anime its funny when people critisize anime when they have never watched it,or they say it sucks by watching any random episode not the first one.

and some anime have pretty wicked story lines and names of chi and stuff,on the ninja type animes.heh

Anime is like a teenage fairy tale, always ends with a 'happily ever after'. I hate those kind of genres of anime, Cowboy Bebop ftw. And yeah, i'm still an anime fan.
