So skimming around one of the fansites I saw that the closed beta for hellgate london is suppose to start today! so first, did anyone get in yet? I know it's early, and second if you haven't signed up signups are aviable from the official website. I think its just hellgatelondon.com so go sign up! srry if there have already been threads about this, I know it's been in alpha testing for a lil while. Can any alpha testers share some insights? heh, it looks sweet. Made from basically all the people who worked at Blizzard for the Diablo series, they left and formed their own Flagship studios. From everything i've read/seen it will hopefully be a much anticipated follow up to d2. Has a really cool setting and switching from fps/hack and slash seems awesome. It will be b2p and then f2p with an option to subscribe for 10 bucks a month allowing certain bonuses like new weapons, classes, guild halls, hardcore mode, etc.

i thought that the HGL beta was only for those people who had pre-ordered HGL or have bought a statue.

yeah i hope i can get in somehow, id like to try before i buy + i hope this game is fun for a long time also. does annyone know the max lvl? and the softcap? would be great to hear. someone told me if ur used to play 14 hours a day this game might not be for u but i doubt that >.> ive played ut2004 allien invasion for HOURS and i got a feeling this will be somewhat the same, but with more features^^ annyway cant wait for it to come out, i might even buy a new video card to run it on max settings!

i think the email signups are for newsletters and maybe the pre launch test, at least, if they do such a test.

hah they have email signups for possible testing Plus, i've read there will be an open beta so just keep on a look out for the date of that. I'm still torn about this game so i'm hoping i'll get to play to see if I like it. I'm pretty sure the initial level cap is 50 and i'm not sure how hard it will be to hit that. I think only 3 of the 5 acts are being released for testing, or that's all that's been released so far. It would be nice to not have to run baal run after baal run to hit level cap. I think they are going to try and make it less repetitive in that respect, plus quests that involve killing waves of enemy attackers just has to be cool heh.

if it hits open beta testing, it will have all 5 acts.
the last phase of alpha testing was up to act 3.

so, if there's an open beta, it's after pre-beta (which is now) and right before launch, so i'm guessing that would be the "final" product.
the launch is due in a month and a half

ya I'm thinking about pre ordering as well because I'd like to test it out, only problem is i don't think they have beta keys in the stores yet so you have to pre-order online which requires paying in full and then paying for shipping, maybe i'll hit up the mall later this week and see if they have in store preorder keys.

The gameplay with guns looks ultra lame however it might be fun to play with swords..
