    Kidding.

That's not the point, it's the fact that the cops have no way to prove he's doing anything illegal at the moment. So they can't hold him or the evidence at all. Ever heard of 'Innocent until proven guilty'? That's my point...

They can hold you if they find something suspicious. And 250k+ in a car is pretty suspicious.

So you're saying if I win the lottery and I'm on my way home with that money in my car, and the receipt accidentally slips out of my hands and out the window, they could hold me for 'something suspicious'?

    That's gay...

Now if you just won 250k... Great. If the reciepts from 23 different casinos happen to fly out the window... oh well.

But if your struggling to tell the trooper where you were going and how long you have been in the state. Then to top it all off you have suitcases in full of money. Thats probably cause buddy. He has the right to take it until you can prove its your money...

Why? Because there is a big differnece between 300 dollars in your wallet... and 250k in suitcases. That is a HUGE amount of money to be lugging around. If I had won that much from casinos I would be asking for ****in cashiers checks... not cash. If you were to take that into a bank they would question you as well.

If you dont like the law... go to canada
**** that, I'll go to Italy. The Mafia are allowed to have briefcases full of cash, so I should be able too.

But in all seriousness, I still find it stupid that they have to withhold him. Aren't they not allowed to do anything if the money was acquired across state borders? I'm not extremely familiar with the law, so meh...

Again they have no proof he even got the money in Nevada or California...

See where im goin with this? You just assume right off the bat that he is telling the truth.

I wasn't assuming he was telling the truth, it's still just that they have no proof otherwise, so they have no evidence. Sure, he may be suspicious, but the guy on the side of the street in a leather trench coat wearing shades is suspicious too. Do you see them taking him in for questioning?

I know what you're going to say, "it's a bunch of money so it's different", but it's the same thing. They hold him for being suspicious, then they have to hold every 'suspicious' person out there.

Ya, lets take out the whole police force out of America.

Then everything would be in chaos.

I think the cop did the right thing.

I'm not saying it's the police force, I'm just pissed about some of the stupidity and hypocrisy with some of the laws of this nation.
