When you wear armour in RO. Does it show on your character? or does everyone look the same?

That's probably the only downside. Everyone looks the same as long as they are the same class ( if you do not count clothing colors, which are alot ). Weapons and shield do show up, but only when you're fighting.

Don't let that stop you from playing it, it's indeed a great great game.

And playing with other people makes it twice as fun, so joining a guild or having friends is also a good idea.

Equiping armor will not change your look except for hats/wings and some weapons will change.

In private servers you can change armor color and hair.

    Every class looks different.

Edit: yes I forgot to mention the great Card system which EVERY piece of armor can have these wonderful tiny cards that some how has a huge magical effect on your armor :P. (stats and % of more dmg's and way more wonderful things D

what RO offers you is tons of classes, skills, incredible pvp and guild wars, but the most powerfull feature it's his INCREDIBLE ADDICTIVITY, you can't just leave it easily once you get hooked pretty good

about the card, I sugges to put a couple of extra 10 dollars and try to affor from amazon, they have the best prices around, here is something that I think might adjust to your budget and still deliver great quality

    http://www.amazon.com/ATI-Radeon-X16...1198778&sr=1-4

    http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-e-GeForce...1198633&sr=8-5

if you have more money well

    http://www.amazon.com/PNY-Nvidia-GeF...1198650&sr=8-1

or try searching in amazon for geforce 8600GTS or 8800GTS if you have much more money, you can't never go wrong with those two

lol i played RO on a computer with a 64 mb integrated graphics chip and it ran perfectly fine on 1024 x 768 windowed.
    WoE lagged liked crazy though...

if your playing the official servers (PH ones that went free) then you'll expect a lot of grinding, but the overall classes and content is pretty good.
when you rebirth or whatever its called, you'll be back to novice and try to get that 3rd or 4th class. so yes expect grind.

i played it back when i was around 7th grade, sure was fun back then...on private servers.

I agree with Astro. Even though it sucks that you can't see the armor you're wearing, there are enough helmets, hats, goggles and colors to customize your character.

how is the grind in RO btw...I only played in private servers with like 100x exp rates and drop rates and such....how is the rate in an official server?

if i see people say that the grind is not bad at all, then I will take it up. Playing Priston Tale atm and am planning to take up an extra game so that I can play that when im bored with the other~

Well lvling is not very bad.
    1-50 in one day
    50-60 couple of hour
    60-70 a day
70-90 a week at least 6 hours of playing if you are crazy
    90-98 two weeks or so
98-99 well its took me 2 weeks

when you're trans, it took 2xtime as long. But I quit after 71 on my stalker: took way to long.

although your armor doesn't change. You'll be surprise that alot of people will look totally different from other people. Wings/eyes/weps/ears/hats/hairs...and more are what you can change your appearance. I have't seen alot of high lvl people who look the same, but when your low lvl you'll look like alot of low lvl ppl.

If you're into extremely skill based pvp and gvg, go for it!

Another thing, given the lack of negative comments on this game, in OnRPG forums for gawd's sake, you can be sure it wouldn't be a bad game.

RO has the BEST pvp system I've seen, but I do think the champion's Asura Strike is over powered. But then again the Paladin's relfect can neutralize. I laugh my @ss out whenever a champion nuke a paladin then he ends up dying while the Paly is still standing there

RO has castle war/other good PvP elements.

Combine that with World of Warcraft and you have a near perfect game.

No, RO really is just a grind.
It used to be great back in the day, but if you've played anything recent (particularly P2P-- and, by recent, I mean something that's come out within the past four years), then you're not going to be able to find the fun in it.

It was once grand, but it hasn't aged well, and is now somewhere just under mediocre.

Um they are releasing the new episode VERY soon which has the new classes and whole new demon midgard world.

The Devil morocc is already out they update RO like crazy....

edit: They also made 2 factions in this new episode so its like horde vs alliance except RO

The 2 factions change the look of armor.

    Default Ro --

    is pretty amazing IMO.
There's so much characters, and each class have multiple builds that have their own advantages. Almost all classes are helpful when it comes to party play & guild play.
THe PvP & WoE is amazing. They both require planning & skills to do well.
Card combo is good too, but tedious to go get the cards you want.

Nonetheless, one of the better games.

I can't get a good view of your PC but if it has two slots like the one in the second pic, then you are pci xpress SLI capable
