For as long as there are rules to follow, there will always be someone who will try to go around them, or even break them. In that respect the game world isnīt that much different from the real world.
I agree with companies cracking down on cheaters and hackers and whatnot. I especially like the idea of Intel making a special chip that fights cheating...that is just awesome. But then, due to these measures to prevent cheating, MMORPGs will lose a certain percentage of players...don't you guys think?
What are your opinions on cheating? Post useful comments and discussions, no flaming please.
they forgot to add that Nexon anti-cheat system consist of putting a trojan rootkit into your pc which can lead to big slowdowns on low end computers.
But nice article anyway, a bit short tho
if it was up to me i would anything in my power to stop cheaters i just hate it they wreck the game for everyone not even 10 minutes ago i was playing ETQW and sumguy was using an aimbot and wouldn't leave or stop so everyone else just left
I can see why people cheat but not why they would risk it specially if it was a p2p mmo. but i think they should make that intel thing that would be awesome but its true mmos would lose a big part of the community.
They would lose the cheaters in the community and gain back those who left the games because of cheaters. ^^
But seriously, that problem has been around for almost the same number of years games has been around so i wouldn't see any quick fix for it for the time being.
