Good Online Action games? (Non-FPS or TPS)

I've been playing online games for a while - from pay-to-play to free-to-play games, first person shooters to insane grinding roleplaying games. However, I have yet to see one type of game that I've desperately wanted to see for the longest time.

An online game with console-type controls and ACTION. (No "click it and forget it" crap, or "click button and watch effects, lolerskatez")

True, there is Rakion, and its probably the only online game I play. However, I'm leaving alongside a friend, and when he's not playing I'm not, since we're trying to keep our characters relatively close together in level. (Currently, I have more free time than him so I'm a bit ahead of him.)

Basically, what I'm asking you guys, is simply this:

Do any of you know of a good action-oriented online game with a decent amount of character customizability that I could download and play (trial or otherwise) for free? If so, I would greatly appreciate a name or a link. (If you just post the name, don't just post the abbreviation. Abbreviations only help people who know what the abbreviation means, after all!)

(PS: I have tried out Maplestory - played it way back when it was in it's early beta stages. To give an example on timeline: No player had gotten past 30 yet because the highest level monsters were about level 20. Yeeeeah...)

Survival Project, not much customization but its the closest thing to an action online game IMO.

Well, first off, you could always try the search button, considering this question has been asked countless times, and I'm sure you could more than find the answer to your question in less than five minutes. . .oh but wait, that would require effort. I forgot. Well at least you aren't spamming up the board with WARROCK bullshit.
