please dont listen heavy metal, they scare me,

Just gonna say this once, anything that plays on the radio nowadays is not rock, i don't mean the oldies but the so called "hip" "new" music or scene music as i like to call it,(sounds like you want more scene musice rather then real music)

Korn is in the same genre as Linkin Park, so I'd check them out too. I'm a DnB person, so I can't really make suggestions on techno/trance. There's a lot more I listen to, but I'm not good at suggesting stuff to people.

I almost forgot about Incubus, over the years they haven't sounded any worse, and the Light Grenades album has a lot of different sounds, so look at them too (too lazy to find a video).
