    Answering a question posed to her at tonight's book reading at Carnegie Hall in New York, Harry Potter author JK Rowling said she "always thought Dumbledore was gay" and that he originally fell in love with the wizard Grindelwald.
    Rowling also said she had read through Steve Kloves' script for the movie adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and corrected a passage in which Dumbledore was reminiscing about past loves by crossing it out and scrawling "Dumbledore is gay" over it.
    Upon hearing her response, a hush fell over the audience in attendence and then applause exploded. Rowling remarked that if she had known that would be the response, she would've revealed her thoughts on Dumbledore earlier.

    Yet another reason why ignorant parents will fear their kids being corrupted by the "evil" of Harry Potter (and write letters and go on talk radio etc.).

    Things like this:

    Did you know that people actually said that because Daniel Radcliffe was doing a nude role in a stage play, they aren't allowing their kids to go see the next Harry Potter movie?

    Ian McKellan is the quintessential wizard/narrator figure. I wish they could've gotten him to do Dumbledore. I might have watched past the first movie (seriously, the only redeeming feature of that first movie is Hagrid, the actor who portrays him does a wonderful job)

    We're talking about something JK Rowling said in an interview. You can't get any more certain than that.

    I don't see why it matters, though. I've known several gay guys, and just because someone is gay doesn't mean he's automatically lusting after every man he comes across, just like you and I (probably) don't automatically lust after every girl we come into contact with lol. Additionally, you guys are getting it confused with pedophilia (which is one of the few things I absolutely have no tolerance for, becausee it's absolutely ****ing sick and twisted), when the two are in fact mutually exclusive.

    Its ok if dumbledore is/isnt gay. Hes still cool to me, since he plays a major role in the HP story after all. Isn't that what mostly matters....maybe not.

    Anyway, what it matters in the big picture? Doesn't change that he was awesome, and the story was awesome.
