Hellgate: London=Diablo 3?

Hey, I just got the demo from gamspot, and i have to say... I think this is Diablo 3. In the first station, you can see this boy named Wart. He has a peg leg. VERY VERY similar to Wirt from diablo and diablo 2. When you do the quest he has, you can even use his wooden peg leg as a weapon. The demo is good, but im not sure if i can do anymore in it. Ive done all the stuff i can do from station 1. and theres no path that leads to a new place, after you open the broken gateway. For all of you who liked Diablo 2, definitely give this a try. BladeMasters can use a grappling gun to pull a zombie or demon to you, and beat the shit out of it.

Considering the developers are from Blizzard and are ex-Diablo developers, I'm pretty sure they did that on purpose. Not so much to say "this is Diablo 3", but more of a fun thing for fans of Diablo to chuckle about when they see it (an "easter egg").

i don't see how ppl can say hellgate and diablo are alike V hellgate is completely diffrent i see barely nothing that reminds me on diablo ...

maybe i need to play more (only got to level 4 before there were no quests and no monsters left in the demo V) but still what has the game that ppl say it resambels diablo ...

Think... You take diablo 2, and move it into the future. Paladin --> blade master. Sorceress/necro/druid --> that mage character. The monsters are still the same. Theres this one zombie called bag o' bones, and it looks exactly like the really tall monsters in act 2 of diablo 2 that have 2 swords. O ya, and the amazon --> marksman. Barbarian also kind of applies for the blade master, as well as the assassin.

or better you could say its completely the same as barely all ORPG's just with some minor changes

You know theres 6 jobs. The demo said it only lets you play 2 of the 6 classes so :O , but damn i finish the demo for both 2 classes. My computer can barely handle the graphics on low.

hellgate and diablo have their similarities, but its not diablo 3

imagine shooting diablo while hes jumping around shooting fire at you, or wait ... woooot some topless mobs ( every diablo series seems to have 1 or 2 ) running to near range

yea isnt diablo a duneon crawler like Mythos but like darknight55 said a fps diablo would be pretty cool

First off you may not think it but it does resembles diablo series, like people said, it was created from ex-diablo creators. The battle system is similar, the weapon making and armor customizing is similar to diablo's runes system, the fighting monsters similar, stations, and even multiplayer system, more people join in, the harder it gets just like diablo, and there are bosses for each stages like diablo, customizing skills, and the different difficulties when beating the game.

@Grim, if it was diablo 3, they would of named it diablo 3, seeing how diablo 1 and 2 tied together with settings, it was sorta a sequel, this cant be diablo 3, because its called Hellgate London. lawl

to get a beta key you have to buy the game.. thats like asking someone for $150. i think thats the full premium package.

ok ex diablo creators ... wow did they never do something diffrent than diablo ?

i don't see how a fps has the same battle system as a old scholl rpg but ok ... if you say so i will go play some cs with this in mind

dunno about weapon making and armor customisation i only found one upgrade item i could insert into the weapon ... ... ok maybe thats realy very similiar but is diablo realy the only game where you can make weapons stronger with some other items ?

Stations ... ok you could say its like the town(s) in diablo but in WoW (just as example) and many other games you have towns and such as well

yay its possible to actually beat the game ? i didn't know that ... this realy is similiar to diablo and i think its good !

but all together mainly it could be compared to many many other orpgs and shooter from what you are saying

P.S. i think it is more like Lost Planet than diablo
