i own CoH/CoV,L2(retail, also played on pserver), EQ/EQ2, GW and FF11, and WoW is the only one im still playing.
main reason is that all those above game's community seem to be dying or dead, aside from GW and EQ2.

wow does not bring anything, at all, new to the genre, but, it does what it does well. you can lvl up pretty damn fast and reach endgame easily(wich i disagree with most people who say the endgame suck, i personaly love it, specialy the arena pvp)
the community is ok, i guess, depends.
if your playing aliance.....good luck have fun.
on horde side it seems more balanced out betwen the mature people and complete douche tards, specialy since none of the douche's really do get to the endgame, making them only an anoyance while leveling.

there's tons of people who hate it, tons of people who love it. just depends in what your looking for in an mmo i guess.
also, this thread is most likely gona get locked due to WoW haters hating, wow fanboys crying, and huge flame wars occuring.

when did city of heroes/vilians die O.o? im on it now lol seems quite alive to me always people to party with etc

Personally, I like the game, but I want to hear YOUR reasons for bashing it. Was it because some cock-flogger spam-killed you on a pvp server? A class too overpowered? Or just some 'OMFGGRAFIXSUCK' excuse?

Yes, it looks sexy, but to me thats about as far as the appeal goes.

If it was Silkroad, i would play it, but since its not free, i refuse to waste my time with it. ESPECIALLY since they constantly **** things up.

People hunted for months to get certian weps for PvP and Blizzard **** that up with just 1 single update. Making it so you MUST BUY THE UPDATE, or have no chance in PvP.

People should not be forced to spend money inthis way.
Some would call it smart marketing, but i call it a Scam and a complete joke.

Im all for WoW Private servers because anything that helps save the common player money at the expense of blizzard is 100% FINE BY ME.

However if Blizzard were actualy a reputable noteworthy company, i would be against them.
Just goes to show Blizzard, if you look after your customers, they will supprot you. If you dont, they will shit on you first chance they get!

Well, first, I got to say that Serenity doesn't understand the costs of running a large MMO. At WoW's size, it probably costs about $30000 a month to run the game. And that cost happens every month.
And then theres going to be a profit, which is obvious, because thats what a companies do. Make money.


But I don't like WoW mostly because of how serious people take it. They need to chill out and not be so addicted.

I posted this story a while back, most people blamed it on my friends which I partially agree with.


I had some friends a while back that had LAN parties and stuff, we would usually play some kind of FPS or other (usually CS). I really liked THAT kind of LAN party, but as soon as they started playing WoW, they moved away from their friends that didn't play WoW. Now, its the only game they play at their parties and its all they talk about. It gets kindof annoying, and its a social block IMO. They are so close minded, they don't even care about other games. Thats why I hate it.

I really love WoW. If you don't like the community, either play with real life friends or find the gems and stick with them. Aside from the occasional person like in any MMO, I haven't had a problem with WoW. I just really enjoy the PvE dungeon content, and I think that aside from hunters (Damn them), WoW has the best MMO PVP.

Then again, if something is mainstream, people will hate it. Period.

I don't hate wow, but I hate the fanboys that think is the best mmorpg ever, the fact is that WoW is just as generic as every generic mmorpg out there with some "pretty" tweaks to appeal to most people and the fact is based on the overrated warcraft game, wouldn't pay for something I could get free with every other game, then pay again for another expansion that does not brings anything unique as far as "huge expansions" go for the money you spend (which is almost as expensive as the original game ), not only that, they FORCE you to spend on a expansion you DON'T need, just for the need to keep up with everyone else or they simply ignore you as a community

and as far as PVP goes, it's simple minded and straightforward with absolutely nothing unique, Ragnarok Online kicks WoW's ass so much it's not even funny

I WOULD pay for let's say, city of heroes/villains and Guild Wars, they offer pretty unique gameplay and content not available in any other free mmorpg, heck even EDEN with all the fact I don't like that kind of games offers something you wont find free anywhere else

I used to play WoW all the time i had 2 level 60 characters before burning crusade back when molten core was the shit. To me then WoW was so much fun raiding, My rogue even had the first piece of tier 2 bracers on my server but after a while i just got bored quit and never went back.


Edit: Blizzard has mad WoW such a easy game compared to when it first started increasing xp and money from quests i mean come on. World of warcraft was not even that hard to level up in the first place.

ermm, not really, I do like wow, and Actually don't hate it, but I wouldn't pay monthly fees for something that simply isn't unique at all, except for the crafting and job system which is very well implemented, imo it gets expensive over the course of time when you could use that same money in something else you like

As I said before, I would pay for something unique, like city of heroes for example, or even possibly Aion if it comes out to be good, heck even for eden, and above everything else I would GLADLY give my money to darkfall if its delivers all that promises so far
