PC, the PS2 graphics are dumb, it has the dumb harddrive.

Just go with PC. His computer SPECs shouldn't be a problem, 99% of computer made 3 years ago can handle this game.

PC PC PC PC PC. Communicating with other players on the PS2 sucks BADLY. I got so frustrated trying to have conversations with PS2 players.

I've played on both the Ps2 and PC version for FF, and I prefer Ps2 all the way, the controls were way simpler and it was just easy to maneuver.

Also for the chat, stick a USB keyboard in your Ps2, works great, (Also works like PC version)

You need the hard disk drive for ps2 to play ffxi. If you have ps2 slim, you technically can't play ffxi on your ps2.

If you had the old ps2 with the HDD. I would've recommended getting the ps2 version. Why? You can just download the pc game and use your ps2 account to play ffxi on your pc if you want. O:

I was just gonna say get PC version, but if you do, buy a gamepad for pc, tons of them that look like ps2 controllers. A controller works much better for FFXI than keyboard and mouse.
