    Default Glowing effects of equipment

Almost all the games out there have a glowing effect when you " + " it, dont you all think that it spoilt the game? The whole item shine/glow so badly that u can only see the shape of it, dosnt it defeats the purpose of detailed armor/weapon drawing?

They should make it as when ever you upgrade it your item change their looks so that it would be more unique instead of the same glowing effect.

    Any one agree with this?

    Hell no dude.

Think about this, glowing weapon is also a sign of ACHIEVEMENT!
What I mean is that would you want to stand out above the rest in a group with several people with the same weapon?

Let say that two people with the same weapon. One is glowing, the other not.
Which one does you think work harder for more power that obviously come with it?

I get what you're saying, and the mutilated posts above yours felt like someone was stabbing me repeatedly in the eyes, but some games, like Perfect World and Zu Online, WAY overdo the glowy stuff to the point where it's annoying to look at, maybe if it was a faint aura like in Lineage, but then again my eyes have burned out by some of the glow on L2 weps.

the weapon tends to change shape think it as your weapon gets into a higher level and it change their looks...its also a sign of achievement rather than the same on glowing effect, what if the looks of upgrade is also random?

I think it would never happen even thought it IS a good idea thought.

You know WHY, it will never happen?Because I don't really in my opinion think that there would be anyone that would devout themself to it.

To make long term short.Everyone to lazy to put it into a game.

I accept if you don't like WYD's glowing items Maybe your just used to darkness.

First of all, no one likes dull weapons and armors. I for one wants my armor glowing all over! Yep! thats the problem of RO, you won't know the pluses of their armors.

Second, Real Gold does glow and diamonds! They're expensive because of that!

WYD's glowy items does not hurt like the games you played! and yeah, without the botting system, good luck with your eyes dude for staying 24/7 in front of your computer!

Most games nowadays are bright as hell and over aliased

That isn't a problem on RO, it adds a tactic element, you never know what cards the asshole will have up his sleeve, thats the one of the things that kept pvp balanced.

Real gold and diamonds don't glow, they simply refract light. And they're expensive because of their carbon composition and RARITY.

WYD's items all glow no matter what, the developers as usual had no original ideas so they grabbed some garbage effect and layered it over the usual garbage weapons, and if the game had any value to it a botting system wouldn't be required to get through the grind.

wait wait wait, we are dicussing about glowing effect ONLY so don't bring too much arguement in, no one is complaining about the ingame bots...I for once was hype of its reopening. But it clearly shown from the SS that the goldenly glow was like mixing gold paint with water...maybe its that dated graphic.

Basically Glows adds a look to a 3d object which distracts the player,
i.e. from seeing the fact they are playing a cardboard cut out, ;D
with a intricate texture applied to it. ;P
so glow looks better and rewarding.
I glow in the dark so i'm not really fussed either way. lol

You might have some eye problem there. It doesn't look bright as hell to me. >_>

You are entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine, so there is no argument here. >_>

Alright, they don't glow but they refract light that lets them glow whenever they are hit by light rays. >_>

Do you have facts to support your thrash talk on the developers of the game? and about the built-in bot, its a unique feature that most mmo don't have. >_>

Don't talk big about botting and Grind. Let me know a character from you who had gone tedious grind without bot? >_>

I don't care if it's dated or not. The fact is, some people like their items glow and some don't. So, don't bash about glowing armors, weapons and items on WYD! >_>

    Fact? OMG

I don't know why your bashing WYD Global, If you don't like its glowy item effects keep silent, else get the same treatment.

As Edward in FUll Metal would say "For every equation there is an equivalent exchange" Cause and Effect. >_>

it's getting old, that it is.
i had rather see some new type of indicating higher lv equipment, such as a type of faintly glowing kind of "veins" or subtile decoration over the blade of your sword, if it's a special one.

@DoomsDayDevice: we are not bashing any games here we were just talking about the glowing effects of games this include your WYD. :3

Agree on this one, but as some one say they are lazy. If they are not this idea have been used long ago.

I belive the developers know that 90% of mmo has the same glowing effects..

What are some other over-glowing mmos you all know??

Sorry, it wasn't intended for you

But read this phrase, what do you make of it?

WYD's items all glow no matter what, the developers as usual had no original ideas so they grabbed some garbage effect and layered it over the usual garbage weapons, and if the game had any value to it a botting system wouldn't be required to get through the grind.
    as usual
    garbage
    No value?

What does it look to you?

Can you say something negative to someones mother or let us say your Fan?

You wouldn't say to someone who happens to hear your conversation about his GF with all the negative *toot* in your conversation and say, hey dude! where just talking about your GF.

Also, why can't people avoid specific things? You could just say "as some games" and not actually say the significant thing. That is more formal.

If you say something negative on a specific thing then it is actually bashing! Negative sides must be more general and positive must be specific although you can be general and humble.

I hope this is not too much to understand on an average mind

peace Bro! You know this is for you know who and that's not you

sometimes the glow does get annoying but sometimes its just where it needs to be,it does help distinquish the low level weapons from the high.
but i would rather see it get like more pointy.
and to quick. YO GABBA GABBA!

Glowing item is only for noobie gamer. Real gamer doesn't need any special graphic because it will keep the intensity of the gameplay.

Gold is an element, meaning it doesn't have any carbon in it, your sentence is ambiguous, but I know what you mean.

Also Gold does reflect light, not refract; from wikipedia (the source of all knowledge), "The transmitted light appears greenish blue, because gold strongly reflects yellow and red."

Back on topic: How would you change the shape of the weapons to make them stand out as obviously upgraded? Make them larger? Different colours (metallic blue, etc.)? Elaborate more.

As other people have said, you want your upgrade to be noticeable; glowing although it apparently hurts your eyes shows an upgraded weapon really obviously.

LOL sorry but that is rubbish ill admit it isnt needed but it sure is nice lets people know how hard u have worked to get your equipment and what + it iswithout having to check char info which alot of games dont have. I for one love glowing weapons not only does it make a good weapon look better but it also shows your level of achievement.

Example of this without using weapon glows is a persons post count on a forum. If a person has over 1k/2k posts you know that they have been here for a while and they are most likely an experienced person in what ever the forum is about i.e if someone has over 2k posts here you can tell they have a good knowledge of mmorpg.

    Glowy Stuff Rocks.

Though Mu Online went OTT with it, I still liked it =|

    WoW does it brilliantly

Glows Change Depending on the type of enchant, they enhance with the better Enchants, and some armors have certain effects (mainly helms/Shoulders) and they look good.
