    I think they probably closed it down due to Phantasy Star Universe getting released.

    BB is still about, or was for a long while after psu. the option to pay the fee is still about though. saga has been having billing problems as of late though...
    (people pay for PSU and get PSBB game time for example, or their credit cards are rejected).
