    Default legalized pservers?

Do you think mmo's should allow their to be pservers legally. for example. a game is made and published. they put out normal servers, and a developer tool for servers. their is a specific process for making a server. and it must be gone over by members of the publisher or creation team. then if it's okayed, you pay a one time license fee[say 50 bucks] and it's all yours. it can also be selected from in-game server select. do you think it should be implimented why or whynot.

Private servers allow people to play illegal copies of online games, though, and then continue to rip off the company that made the game by not paying fees.

For that reason, no, I don't think they should be allowed.

PServers are like extended trials since most PServers don't have ALL features of the retails game...Therefore, yes.

Tho it could change the gaming industry allot the companies would also lose allot of "monopoly" and that's all that matters, Monopoly and profit.

It'll never happen tho it would be cool IN some aspects.

    Despite being a cheapskate: NO

thats the most ******ed idea ever.

even if a game is f2p with a cash shop or something private servers are stupid.

it just encourages more people to use illegal copies of games.

game manufacturers and producers will never let their games go for free, no matter how many pservers there are just the same as big musicians will never sell their music totally free.

Agreed. But for the most part, it's all a matter of revenues. That's why there are business models for these games.

Another thing is control. Without control, issues may arise. Such as increased cases of hacking, ranging rates, and difference in moderation.
