for 1K you can get a lot more than what you wrote there^^
I wrote this build on this forum a few days ago, but it has to fit your needs, so,
where are you buying from? (could be more expensive.), what do you expect from the pc (gaming? work?)

as for your question, im not sure.. i dont think so though...

Do NOT get a HD graphics card, they suck, I did and I'm really sad I wasted my money on it.

the old HD's suck epicly, but the newer ones like the HD3850 and HD3870 are cheap and very worth it if you don't have the money for 8800GT and above

    Smile Hmm...

    So No ATI... O.K.

    It's for gaming,

Well, I'm Not Sure If newegg.com is anywhere near here in Philippines. (It might also be expensive to deliver...) and also expensive here..

back at August I saw a Pentium 4HT worth 10K (in our money) and a Nvidia card worth 2K. (In a Second Hand Item Selling Taiwanese Shop) - Cannot Be trusted though, and also a case worth 2K.

Damn, that just made me want to take a stab at building a rig. I'm only 15, so it's kind of hard to convince the parents to let me fiddle with 1000$ worth of goods, but I think it would be worth it.

I did some research on the CPU and the final conclusion? The Quad > Dual(Same price)
You can all ways overclock but you can never have 2 more cores. The Quad can be easily overclocked to 3.0 with out changing power and the stock cooling is able to run it stable. Whats that? Dual core overclocking?

    http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu...0_8.html#sect0

The OC Q6600 at 3.6 Ghz was able to defeat the OC E6850 at 3.85Ghz with every game they throw at it(Except Company Of Heroes). More games are going to support multi cores(Crysis, U3...) so Quad is more future proof, but if you don't want to OC go with a Dual.

Or you could get a custom-made computer imported from Korea from this site
    www.ihicom.com
There's a computer with a quadcore processor and comes with a 20.1 inch LCD screen, speakers, keyboard, and a mouse (the best part is, the mouse is BLU-RAY!!!).
    http://www.ihicom.com/shopuser/goods...ode=71e3a45ba9
That's the computer I was talking about. The shipping fee will cost you a bummer though because stupid Bush and closing down the freaking import through boats...
