Sye, the reason why I think rock is superior to rap is because, IN MY OPINION, rock takes musical talent. In the majority of rap songs, the only part that takes some skill to do is the drums. All the singers have to do is wear ridiculously baggy clothes and talk. On the other hand, singers in most rock bands have to be EXCELLENT singers if they want their band to succeed.
Now, some R&B songs do take some talent to sing, so I wont smash those, but saying that rap takes talent is like saying breathing takes talent. In rock you have to play guitar, bass, sing, and drum (with maybe some other intruments like piano, violen and such). And if you can honestly say that Soulja boy takes talent to sing, you must be high.

Ok, well first off it's impossible to say a whole genre is bad. No matter what genre it is, there will be a song or two in there that you will like.
I'm not 100% sure if all rappers come up with their own songs, I deffinitely don't think all of them do though.
Rap does have a few charms out there which are good, but the generalization about all the songs being about fighting, bitchs, and gangsters is fairly true, weither you think so or not.
The majority of rap music, while some are, are simply not about emotions though. Yeah, i've heard a few that are, but no body will listen to that anyways because you'd be stereotyped as a *****.
Also, of course not all rock is good. There's some rock that I can't stand. *cough fall out boy and panic at the disco cough*
Anyways, I like other genres of music too, like classical, ska, jazz, techno, a whole bunch of stuff. Rap and country are the two genre's of music that I really can't stand ^_^
