7 was boring. I did love the story though. I loved 8 and 9, but I've never played 10. I'm pretty sure the series wasn't as horrible as you feel after FF VII.

    Blitzball Online!
Probaly not but would be cool i loved that game. Wonder what they mean buy next generation im hoping a whole new combat system.
I personally think FF9 is the best followed by FF10 i loved the story in FF9 soo much. But FF10 is better for replay value managed to complete the sphere grid with all the girls (luna, yuna, the other one) so they done more damage with there normal attack than the melee boys! 99,999 each time but then you just summon yojimbo give him some money zamanto boses.

Tidus' ultimate weapon was a pain to get...Finish the chocobo race with a time of 0:00? NO THANKS.

Anyway, what makes FF12 so bad? The fact its not turn based? Or "No plot" as most say? Or maybe "Because Vaan sucks"? Just wondering

    Didn't FF12 like...actually change the gameplay?

Oh yeah, and that'd be good for Square Enix to do that.

I heard this a long time ago on a sneak peek-ish. A lot of people mistakened it for a new FF MMO tho.
It is going to RESEMBLE FFXI's gameplay but other than that, not really final fantasy related...

    heresy!

everybody knows that FF6 was the best by far. the rest were mere eye-candy-plot-weak aborts of FF6 clones

now seriously, imo story-wise FF6 qualifies as the best driven rpg ever

i'm sure i played FF6 but i cant remember anything about it...
FF8 was my first i'm not sure if it was novelty effect i think its the best FF game
FF9 was alrite but not that amazing, same for FF7 against what a lot of people say

i dunno but i reckon if there wasnt a FF7 movie there wouldnt be so many people saying FF7 is the best FF

    FF games generally OWN anyway

Hah, FFXII was my favorite, then FFIX, then FFXIII.

I don't remember much about VI other than a bunch of angsty kids whining about some evil clown guy...and FFVII makes me think of pre*****cent girls, for some reason. ><

    BLASPHEMY!!!!

    ... seven...was... holy....

I played it when it was the latest FF, so maybe that has something to do with it...but FF7 is... its not something that can recreated. In my opinion, that was Squaresofts ultimate accomplishment. The FF series went down from there.

Nothing but your opinion. I still think and I'll always thing that FF9 is the best FF game ever. For me that is. I do love the other ones as well tough.

I didn't like FF8 because it was more of picking favorites. FF9 reintroduced the classes with fresco, which makes it my favorite. FF6 was damn good, and playing FF1-2 on my Game boy was pretty awesome too.

Honestly, the MMO doesn't have to be FF related. I'm just happy its coming from a good pedigree.

Opinions can be based of experience however.

I have played every FF game since its debut on the NES, and in order. From my experience, as someone growing up with the birth of the NES, i can honestly say final fantasy 7 really is the best. It influenced how FF8,9,10,12..ect were made. FF6(3) was great as well, but there is a shift between the 2d and the 3d consoles which one must make note of.

I believe if you were to play the series in the order they were released, when each bit was using the highest technology for gaming at the time... you would have more experience on the issue. Even then i can look back and say FF7 really influenced everything because it was so good.

See, that's where your theory kind of fails (not that I'm looking into that).

I actually played every Final Fantasy out there, and in order too. I agree that the following FF's next to FF7 were influenced by it, but I still like FF9 more. I just loved the whole game. Every last bit of it.

I thought FF9 was amazing because of the storyline, it just seemed so epic to me.

The locations were nice, too. A giant tree covered in sand? Yes please.

I think Vivi had a ton to do with it, too. <3
