Venom is the symbiote. The symbiote has moved to other people before, and infact is now on the Scorpion.
Through out all the changes of hosts, it still calls itself Venom.
Venom is the name of the suit. It is a living life-form and it has named itself. It named itself Venom.
The symbiote doesn't even care about who it's host is. It's a bit stressful and weakens it a bit when it moves, so it doesn't do it very often, but that is the only reason it has stayed on eddie for such a long time.

Anywho, yeah I'm pumped up for this movie
But not as pumped as I am for Pirates of the Carribean 2

Interesting... However, didn't it officialy become Venom when it bonded with Eddie Brock? Before then, it was just Spidy's super awsome black suit. Then he realized it wanted to kill him, got rid of it, Eddie found it, then we get Venom. Bit of it gets attached to Cletus Kasady, then we get Carnage.

Anyway, I see what you mean. The symbiote is Venom, not the guy wearing the "suit." But generally when you think Venom, you think Spidy's rival/arch-enemy/anti-hero. Oh well, you win this round of Geek Fight.

I'm not the first to say this but...
Venom is my favourite, I feal that the whole venom storyline in the comics was alot better thought out then the rest.

I just can't wait for this to come out so I can feal complete, and I hope they continue to mention venom in other spiderman movies to come.



However right now I'm just counting the days for superman returns,
they are finally continuing the story from the original movies.
