Thats true now in most placwes in the US. Political correctness has outlawed "Merry Xmas". There is now legislation to remove Easter as a Official Holiday as well.

Welcome to the world of political correctness and where the majority have to change to fit the needs of the minority. I'm not all religious when Christmas comes along but come on, this is just nitpicking, it holds meaning to someone and it doesn't hurt anyone to say Merry Christmas. It must burn their tongue to say Christ? I don't see a problem with it at all. And ho ho ho offensive to women... the feminist would commit suicide if they were stranded in the middle east.
Edit: Next thing you know Happy Holidays will be wrong to say because it's speaking of only religious celebrations
