I remeber playing fairyland a looong time ago, and i remeber some dude gave me a phoenix or something and i needed to be like lvl 40 or 50, but i quit at lvl 4 cuz the makers thought it would be cool if we sat on the computer for hours killing monsters until we finally reached lvl 2, then make us repeat the process.

Complete exaggeration much? The grind is not as ferkin says, lvl 10 alone is probably 2-3 hours. As for gameplay, the game is fun to an extent, after awhile it does get tedious and if you don't have friends playing with you, it gets boring quick. Also the community in FL is probably the best in any game I've seen.

WTF???? I barely even know that this game was hyped....
Compare to other hyped games this is nothing.
After going through so much disappointment, I learned that most of the f2p are shitty from inside to the outside.

You grind in every game, but if the only thing you look forward to is being a high level then you'll never enjoy games like that. getting from one level to the next shouldn't be you only goal in playing mmos. it's like in life, if you only look foward to your next birthday and not all the events inbetween, you are just wasting your time.

and....just pointing out one thing that if you use ONE hunting knife and collect chicken, then turn cook those chicken you'll make a decent profit off of that knife. Some people just have bad experiences cause they know not what to do...

    its like in WoW.
if you take miningt and blacksmithing you'll get less money then if you take mining and lets say skinning, and sell what you aquire on auction house.

a game that doesn't promote party by designing tools for that (ex: ppl wanty to party list) and not forcing them to find anyone, will never succeed keeping my full attention span. Fairyland has good mechanics but soloing is extremely boring in such game.

I pretty much liked it, until like you stated, I could not make money with my skill and was told to use a warehouse which never emptied.

I remembered I played this game once back in 2004 or 2005. This game has been around for like, more than 3 years :P The only thing I love is the Final Fantasy-kind-of-battle-system. And I have to agree, soloing is BAD, it doesn't feel like an online game!

You expected a game called Fairyland to be good?

I agree strongly about the pet part. It was the most ******ed way to manage pets.

And don't give me that "BUT LOL CROIX THEY HAVE QUESTS FOR THAT, SILLY" bullshit. Yeah, they have quests, about ten of them that are actually completable in the starting town, none of which give exp or gold enough to do shit with.
it doesn't take long at all to level in FL if you party. And classes like mages and martial artist can solo monsters 3-4 levels higher than their own without much of a proble

still the warehouse system promotes better the economy than most cookie cutter asian mmos where bustling economy means heavy lag in towns due to the number of afk player shops.
Plus i like turn based combat since fallout and jagged alliance rpg, but then those are rpg, not grind-like-a-mill-cookie-cutter asian mmos.
only thing that could save such mmos is the party system. and so far i always quit after a while due to permanent soloing. alas this game doesn't do anything on that side.
    therefore i quitted.
